Do battery cables go bad?

/ Do battery cables go bad? #121
Never have had starter issues on my trucks... at 180,000 miles the original starter quite... sure it needed new brushes but I just needed it fixed... two rebuilt starters and the Chevrolet grinds 25% of the time so I stopped driving it for now...

I also have a box of shims!

So I still haven’t bothered looking into this issue although I’m now pretty certain the big cables are good and the batteries are good and the problem is in the little wire that powers the solenoid or something on that side of it. If I ever get my 3500 HD put back together I’ll put my dump truck in the shop and do some much needed tlc. I had to use the truck today and it was about 30 degrease. The truck started flawlessly. And the truck has bad door pins I haven’t replaced either that requires lifting the door up to close it. If it’s about 25 degrease or colder the door latches right without having to lift up on it. And the marginal cooling system works better in the cold. The driver comfort is better in cold weather. I’m pretty sure this truck just doesn’t like warm weather. Think we can take this thread to 1000 post?

I think it is doable. We have a way to go, but here I helped a bit. :)

I think we have moved on to the critical importance of posting one’s location in the user profile.

Good thing I had my location filled in. Otherwise everyone would have been clueless about how batteries cables work.

The fusible link on the positive terminal is a bout a 10g wire. It powers EVERYTHING in the truck.

I could be wrong but I don’t think there is a fusible link on the starter wire.
