Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with the slide bar that tightens the dig chain to freeze? i can't get it to loosen in order to take the chain off.

Tbe planetary reduction that shifts from transport to dig has a brass key to the axel. They shear regularly.

When i engage the chain it turn just a smidge and then starts squealing like its binding.

The bearing in one or more of the idler sprockets is toast.

I suspected a bearing somewhere but where to find parts for these anymore and is it worth fixing i have 400 in it running

The directional selector is a bit weird too, its very loose operating. Reverse works ok, but the notch that engages forward falls in and out as it goes forward it doesn't stay in its gear.

Ditch Witch's slogan is, "Any part for any machine ever." You can get it from them although it can be pricey. Most bearings etc. on these machines are off the shelf type items so you can measure it up and get it anywhere.

Sounds good! As soon as i can get the slide move so i can get the chain off ill start in it.
