We have a Panasonic KX-TG254SK. 2 features that make it work well at our house is Bluetooth and Range Extender. Range extender gives us use of our cordless phone about 400' away from our house.

I agree with getting a Bluetooth compatible phone if you have a cell phone. But the OP indicated he didn't.

Our Panasonic KX-TGA651 gives a range of about 300' LOS, but that bluetooth feature makes it priceless, as long as you remeber to get your cell near the base station.

I have a cell phone but like him its USELESS at my house. THERE is ZERO signal in many rural areas. There is no signal at my house from verizon, altell, At&t, whoever you have. Altell is the best but you can only text really.

My farm is even worse, no its not near by. You can barely text, maybe 3-10x to try and send a txt before it goes out.

How much money do you have?

The best long range phone on the market is the Engenius. I have sold a bunch of them..They are rugged, and they do what they say..

I have a feeling there may have been a battery issue when I bought it as it kept shutting off or the display would dim to the point of being unreadable. Range was nothing to brag about either. Of course I should have returned it but kept putting it off...

In your experience are Engenius phones worth servicing?

My situation is a little different. The cell reception at the house is marginal without an antenna we got from Amazon. With the antenna it's ok. But the antenna is plugged into power, either the wall or a vehicle. The cell reception down in my warehouses is virtually non-existent.

BUT if I use my BT paired panasonics with a range extender I'll probably be able to get both cell phones and the land line working in my warehouses, about 300' away.

I have never seen a broken one..But if it is just the battery, then just replace the battery and go from there... I would think with that much investment yes by all means get it repaired. We sell them as an accessory to our key and pbx systems when the customer want a cordless and usually has to move between buildings and needs a solution without going to the cellular type systems like DEC or putting in access points for the IP cordless phones. The Engenius is quick to deploy and requires no infrastructure.

This is the model that appeared at my Costco about 2 mths ago https://panasonic.ca/english/telecom/telephones/dect/KXTG7733S.asp I'll say its the "newest" here, but i'd also bet that the "guts" of the Panasonic phones all are the same with different packaging.
