Charging truck battery

I'm looking at Interstate Battery MTX-94R/H7. It says: AGM Valve, Regulated Lead Acid, (VRLA) is required.
My charger has two setting-regular battery or AGM. Which one to use?

Use the AGM setting.

Some AGM batteries actually prefer the standard setting (Optima AGM batteries are one example). Interstates web site says to use the AGM setting on their AGM batteries.

Where did you find this information? For years I've been charging yellow Optima battery in AGM setting and wondering why it's loosing charge so fast when not in use

I looked it up years ago when I bought an Optima Yellow Top battery for my tractor. I know the charging and float voltages in my smart charger's various charging profiles. Contacted Optima for tech support on which was the best profile to use. They suggested using the standard flooded/sealed setting on my charger, which uses 14.4V for constant voltage charging and 13.4 volts for "float". These were basically in the middle of their recommended voltage ranges. The AGM setting on my charger were a little higher, but still within Optima's recommended ranges, but one or both was near the top end of the range.

Unless your AGM voltages are outside of Optima's recommended range or max amperages, it should not be damaging your battery.
