Agreed! Seems something is available some where but a quick simple solution would be the way to go for a little side business!

There seems to be some interest ( need ) for these pins.

How many folks here are interested in purchasing some pins? Also, with or without the Zerk fitting? Adding the Zerk obviously increases the time to machine them, consequently the cost. Also, the type of steel can affect the price. If there is enough interest, I can come up with a price (less shipping), using some quality steel bar stock for both the pins and the holding pins.

One thing I found when making mine, the holes in the boss of the ripper had either excess paint, a burr , or were not perfectly aligned, not sure which. Simple enough, I just ran a 9/32 drill bit through to clean out the holes. I made the hole in the pin the same diameter as the ripper boss hole ( 9/32 ") , and made the holding pins a couple of thousands smaller, to assure they would fit without binding. Cleaning out the holes in the ripper boss might (or might not) be required.

I'll watch this thread to get an idea of the response.

I was hoping you might respond......count me in on a pair. I don't plan on using mine long term so I can get by without the zerks.

I'm very interested in some with zerks but can live without them if it is too much work. Thanks!!!!

Couldn't you grease them every time you switch from the bucket to the ripper?

Id be interested with the zerks. Why not add them if its only a couple dollars for a longer lasting function.

I'm definitely interested. I just bought the the ripper to remove some stumps. It was on sale for 125.00 plus shipping. I couldn't pass that up that price.

Dang...if I hadn't just bought the BroTek ripper/trencher, I'd be on board too!

Hey Ken,

How many sets do you need to make it worth your wile ? It looks like four sets at this point. I do have the DR pins if you wanted to turn those down or I would buy the ones you come up with.

Let us know....thanks for offering.

Ryan:

It's not a matter of being worth my while - I don't want to purchase barstock that will never get used.

My plan is this:
I have enough of my "old stock" that I made mine out of, to make two sets. There is nothing wrong with them, The pins are just fine in my BX25 - I've ripped several stumps with no problem. I will be machining them in the next couple of days, and come up with a price.
I will make zerks in both, and fit them to my BX25 to assure they fit properly.

I'll offer one set to you, and the other to Code54, since you were the first to respond.

If cschultz and srossman still want them, I will order a 3 foot length of rod, which will be enough for those two sets. That will be the end of this project.
