Hey everyone,

I posted a question about this issue about a month ago and never got any pictures to go with it. Now I've got them and hoping some of you can weigh in on what might be causing the gap. Note: the rattling sound in the video is my FEL not my tractor.

Another thing I noticed is how the steering seems to be very stiff when the bucket is up. I haven't used the bucket aside from just lifting it up to operate the tractor since this problem started.

Use this link to view my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMJbgEWKHkI

Thanks again,

No, but the frame is intact and there aren't any cracks. My neighbor and I had it on a lift and went over the frame and came up with nothing. :(

Wow! Is the tractor as new as it looks? Talked to the dealer yet? If mine did that, I'd be real concerned!

Does the loader hook to the front of the tractor frame also? I can't imagine that sheetmetal moving like that without the frame being broken.

I haven't contacted the dealer yet, and after looking at the frame from under the tractor is looks to be in good shape. Nothing is separating from itself, and the only thing that looks to be showing any sign of stress are the motor mounts. I didn't think that would be it though.

It's a 1997 with 926 hours. My bucket is a Westendorf TA-111. Personally, I think it's too much bucket for my size of tractor.

The loader hooks to the front of the tractor frame and then also slides into brackets at the midsection. Here are a couple pictures of my loader.

So what was the problem with yours? Did your frame actually crack? When your welder buddy fixed it, has it been ok since?

Thanks for your input.

I was talking with a friend the other night on the phone. His dad has a Massey in the 40-50 hp size, dont know the model. However, he said that his dad just broke the frame on his tractor! I thought I had heard of a Massey story like that before. I know them both very well, but they live about two hours away. Hopefully I'll be able to get some more information or some photos to share with you guys. This tractor is well out of warranty as is yours. I wonder if the dealers hear about all these instances when it happens out of warranty. Seems to be happening enough that there is a design defect that massey may aknowledge and help out with. Worth a conversation with your dealer in my opinion.

Looks like I need to recheck my frame and see if there are any cracks around the bolt holes. That other post gave me a couple of ideas on where I should look. I was using it today without the bucket and just the weight of the loader mount was enough to cause the gap. The tractor still runs great. I regraded my drive way with my blade and then I sprayed about 8 acres with some weed killer and it ran fine the whole time.

One thing to note is when I use my bucket it seems like my power steering is spotty. It feels like there's points when I'm turning the wheels where it sticks. I can still turn the wheels and it works ok, but I can tell something isn't right.

Thanks again for everyone's input.
