That can cause it with high drain and nowhere enough time to replenish the charge.

I keep mine plugged into a 4 amp smart maintainer when the 3500 diesel is sitting! Made a plug to back feed through the 7 pin trailer socket. That way, I don't need to open or close the hood. Also, have a short pigtail with Anderson powerpole connectors on it. That way, if I need to leave in a hurry or forget to unplug, I'm not dragging maintainer down the road!

Will see how long the new set lasts with the better upkeep this time around.
Also, have block heater on smart plug that will come on at a preset temp to help crank that cold iron block over easier. Made a cover that goes over the passenger side mirror that holds the cord. This way, I see that I'm plugged in!

Wifi smart plugs really help with these tasks. Have different times set on block heater for different days, as I'm the DW's "tow truck".

I recently replaced an AAA size H6 battery in my new to me 2012 Titan Pro-4X that was 35 months old. It would drain down sitting for a few days. I kept this old battery and it still drains down in 2 weeks out of truck, if not kept in a trickle charger.
I replaced with this Amazon battery:
It is one group size larger (H7) than OEM and an AGM style. A bit of cutting and it fits fine.Seems to work fine also and $120 less than elsewhere.
Looked at Li-ion iron phosphate starting batteries which are as low as $300-450. Some reviews are sketchy, but advertised at 15 years life.
Zero Gravity brand is rated well, but generally 2X cost of the bottom basement brands.

I put a Lithium "starting" battery in my side by side a couple of years ago. It works well in moderate weather when it gets cold it will not crank over the engine well, after turning the headlights on and/or bumping the starter a few times it must warm up the battery and it will work most of the time but not always. I've had to use a boost pak on it often in the winter for the first start then it will work fine the rest of the day. I do keep the boost pak with me just in case.

My MG used 2 small 6 volt batteries in series to provide 12 volts... being short on cash I only replaced one and never a problem for the rest of my ownership ..
So did most of the the MGs I had. But when needing batteries, they only got one.

A 12 V, to eliminate the issues with two in series, and lose some weight.

That looks similar to the Weize batteries I've been buying lately. Good specs and definitely less money than most other AGMs.

Putting the 6th one purchased, an H7, in the girlfriend's new car today (new battery in a new car? It's a story in itself) and am in the process of making the cables for four H8s in the M936.

Instead of buying them through Amazon, it's cheaper to get them directly from Weize.

battery question: will a completely discharged battery freeze solid in sub zero temps? (not talking absolute zero, but say -10 to -20)

Yes they will! Had one freeze in 21/22 cold snap.

According to Exide factory rep, a fully charged battery can withstand -80°F but a fully discharged battery can freeze solid in +32°F.
