B7500 cracked engine block

My sister owns a B7500.. I'm guessing a 2003-2005 era model. Well... They have not taken great care of it and at some point in the past, filled the radiator with water and not antifreeze. .. This past winter a freeze plug popped and I assumed it was just the plug. They replaced it but when they filled the coolant again..... It filled the crank case. ... Engine is all done. Any idea what a short block runs for one of those ?

Yes, that is the one she has.

There is a complete engine on ebay for $1600 in PA. I'd think hard about buying something like that.

Think I would look for one specified for a tractor and not a Bobcat to keep the parts swapping down.

I not 100% sure I'm even going to get involved in the engine swap myself. I need to take a look at the thing and see how much is involved in a short block swap out. Last thing I want is to get it apart and screw something up installing the new one. .. Thinking its a trip to the dealer.

If you work on it and screw it up, you own it for life. I would not make eye contact on a job like that other than maybe transport it for someone.

What a sad story. Having owned a B7500 in the past, it hurts me to think someone was so careless to destroy such a nice little tractor.
