i thought I would be able to just slide the bearing, gear bevel, collar set etc, off, but that does not seem to be the case. Can someone give me some advice on how to get this apart?
Thanks

That's it, I give up. I called the dealer and they still don't have the axle; maybe Wednesday. So I brought the Bevel Gear and case cover with the stuck bearing to the dealer and asked them to put it together when the axle arrives. They said it would only take a few minutes and they would do it as soon as the axle arrives.

Hopefully I'll bring it home, bolt it on and be good to go.

Sorry for your troubles.

I basically dis-assembled mine in the field, took the hub to the dealer and had them pull it apart for me. Reassembled in the field, total cost was just under 300.00. I think. Needed special fluid for axle, and that gasket sealer.
Did not replace other side, will wait until it snaps too.

Well it has been a learning experience. The shop called today and said the part was finally in and I could pick up the repaired assembly tomorrow. My axle only calls for 80/90W gear lube, nothing special. I will pick up some RTV sealer tomorrow as well and hopefully be back in business.

Yes, shop manuals are pretty expensive. But, consider that if it saves you one trip to the dealer, it probably pays for itself. $150 is probably about 3 hours labor, and even a minor repair at the dealer will eat that up. The money I spent for my shop manual probably saved me at least $1000....and if something goes wrong that I decide Not to tackle, at least I can get a good idea of whether or not the dealer is feeding me the straight scoop. I have shop manuals for my car, truck, mowers, small engines, etc.,etc. I Hate to take anything in for repair...I've been burned a couple of times in my younger dumber days.
