For clarity's sake. Rural King stores are not dealerships. They are retail farm supply stores founded and still run by a farmer family 60 years ago. There are 113 locations and growing, 60 now carry RK Tractors, all owned by Rural King. My job, and that of the others that came from the Ag Equipment industry is to blend the best of retail with that of traditional tractor dealerships to make RK Tractors a successful and sustainable tractor brand. Quality tractors, offered at great prices and the parts & service infrastructure to take care of customer equipment. It is a different business model from the long-standing OEM/Independent Dealer network. Some think we will fail, but we think we will be around in 30 years and longer, that's why we are here now. Hopefully are presence on the forum and transparency about our business already separates us a bit. We know we have lots to do and can certainly improve, but none of us would be working every day to grow this business responsibly if we didn't think this was the last and best job we would ever have.

Good stuff. I'm on the bandwagon of support. We always benefit from versatility.

I know this is off topic, but.....
I hope someone at RK realizes that the Fort Wayne store needs some level of professionalism instilled in it.

I rarely go there any longer, and I drive right by it when I go to town.

Instead of driving 10 miles to it, I drive 30 some miles out of my way to go to the Decatur Indiana store

Interesting! Thanks for the info.

I don't know on which market do they sell this. I've found something for the Arabia market and a couple things the part of the EU market.

I remember a member of this site posting a pic of one he had bought, this was several years ago. I looked on their website and could no longer find them, but they did have another low hp tractor that they sell, so I would guess they no longer build them for Lamborghini. I saw one for sale that was a model year 2016. I like the white color scheme, but I could never keep it clean. I liked the Green Cabela’s color probably the best.

The vast majority of TYM's export business is the U.S., made up of TYM, Mahindra and RK brands, and last year two models built for Zetor NA.

WHY ?????

I think I saw elsewhere that RK corporate decided that their own website was to be the one, only, and official mouthpiece for RK tractors - not the TBN forums - and that they were pulling back their participation here. In addition, I understand that RK employees no longer are permitted to participate on these forums either.

I suppose RK will be the deathnell to retail store branded tractors

I struggle with the concept.

So a store brand approaches a tractor manfacturer. Hey, we wanna sell your tractors but brand them with our logo? The manufacturer says what's in it for me? The store says we'll pay you a profitable margin on each unit and we'll agree to purchase "said amount" of units. Manufacturer says okay, it's a deal. Store realizes there's much more to this than we realized..... Deal falls apart.... some gnashing of teeth between manufacurer and store. But they survive....

Now we get to the purchaser of said product. Where does this failed business proposition leave them? Will the manufacturer honor warranty claims of these "branded" tractirs? Will the store do everything it can to ensure purchaser is taken care of? What happens to purchaser if they just walk away?

These deals always scare me. I don't like rebranding at all!!! I don't even like it when a major brand buys components from someone else.

If you are gonna brand a tractor "Acme" then every component should be produced by Acme.

As I said before. I hope for the best and expect the worst.

As I mentioned a while back, Doug (RK Tractor Guy) is no longer with RK. I was told that by the local tractor rep around the end of July. This past weekend I was talking to him and I asked if he ever heard what happened to Doug. He said they came in one morning and there was a corporate email that said remove Doug so an so from your email contacts because he is no longer with us and we wish him the best in his new endeavor. He said that Doug had a lot of years in the tractor market and was working for John Deere when RK got him. I did look forward to his responses on this site.

The success of a tractor brand should never be on the shoulders of one person.

Doug's departure should have no impact on the brand.

His name isn't hard to find and it seems he was running McCormick Tractors at one time.

Doug's departure should have no impact on the brand.

"Doug" was apparently in charge of the burgeoning RK tractor program.
When leadership of any business (or division) departs, major disruption may occur.
Boeing changed corporate leadership ten(+?) years ago, when Alan Mulally left.
Check to see which direction Boeing has been going since.

Absolutely correct. I would guess that 99.99% of all potential RK shoppers never heard of Doug, or visited this forum.
