d the Facebook post about cleaning the grounds on the global series tractors
Update- a friend had an OLD 6ft bush hog in the weeds. Put that on, works good. PTO does engage pretty violently. Occasionally sheers the pin on the bush hog driveline during engagement. Need to find 7ft so I’m atleast as wide as the tractor.Hooked my Deere MX10 rotary cutter to my 4707 on Thursday. Kicked the pto on at like 1300rpm, killed the tractor. Rev’d it up some more, kicked it on, tractor made a bunch of racket under the cab, threw a code, and kicked the pto off. Called the dealer, they came and got the tractor (90 miles for them) within 24hrs.
They say the mower is just too big for the tractor. Deere recommends minimum 60 pto hp for the lift type mower that I have. 40 pto hp for a pull type. I have a hard time believing that the tractor can’t even spin that mower with no load. I didn’t figure it would be ideal, but thought it would work OK for mowing approaches, and Ran it on a 3020 gasser for years with no issues.
Dealer is doing a good job of taking care of me… but this one has me scratching my head a little.
Still hate the grabby clutch. Seems worse when in the fast side of the dyna 2.
That's the trade off. You either go DPF and regens, or no no regens, mass EGR and they need higher temps to work.Add high operating temps and terrible AC to the list of things I hate about this tractor. Its not even 75 degrees out, cmon.
Yes, the temps do run fairly high, but my A/C is pretty decent and I have no complaints with it.Add high operating temps and terrible AC to the list of things I hate about this tractor. Its not even 75 degrees out, cmon.
I got my 10ft rotary cutter going with some help from the guys on the 4700 Series facebook group. Temp on the dash was showing 165-180, not sure what that is measuring. What temps are you guys seeing and what should I be expecting? I was running it what I would consider pretty hard tearing up virgin ground with a 4 bottom and I think I was hitting like 160F
If I had a tractor that I had to let cool down for 5 minutes after I worked it a little I would be looking for something else, surely there has to be something wrong, a farm tractor should be good to work all day even in the hottest environments.I got my 10ft rotary cutter going with some help from the guys on the 4700 Series facebook group. It doesnt take long to heat up to one bar or so from the red running about 3mph in fairly dense CRP. Mow for 5 minutes... cool down for 5 minutes. Cooling package clean, outside temps in the 70s.
Yeah, agree 100%. I’m going to mess with it some more, see if I can’t find a solution. At this point I’ve had enough of the tractor, I will be getting rid of it as soon as I can afford an upgrade. If I had a tractor that I had to let cool down for 5 minutes after I worked it a little I would be looking for something else, surely there has to be something wrong, a farm tractor should be good to work all day even in the hottest environments.

My MX10 will kill the tractor at idle (surprised me, I can turn the cutter by hand easily). I run 1200-1400 RPM, engage for just a second to get it moving, disengage and re-engage. Works well, hopefully not hard on anything.I've had this happen a few times when using my brush cutter. In the moment I was just too eager to get started that I didn't bother to look it up. Does anyone know what this code means and if I'm doing it wrong?
for reference I was rev'ing up the engine to 1900 or so and engaging the PTO, it happens more frequently if it's the first time I'm engaging the pto for the day.
I'll have to keep a closer eye on the temps next summer when it's hotter. I don't remember the temps I got while bush hogging this summer.

Got the TDI box today, installed and tried it out for about 20 minutes. Tractor feels a little stronger. My MX10 will kill the tractor at idle (surprised me, I can turn the cutter by hand easily). I ordered a TDI Tuning box to try out for now.
Gonna keep trying to recalibrate the clutch, some guys say theirs is buttery smooth.
