Had to be hail. No one would would leave their tailgate down and back into something.

Something could have dropped down on it as well, a large branch or small tree; I suspect if he'd backed into something with the tailgate down it would have folded.

I once backed into a lamp post in an empty parking lot... so I can't say a thing. 🤣

I had a couple extended cabs (dakota, chevy 2500, personnel, and work, dakota, gmc 1500, ram) and currently have a Ram 1500 crew. I like the crew, But as the kids get grown and move out, I wouldn't mind an extended cab. The dakota, back seat was a joke, and not meant for people to sit in; the Chevy2500/GMC1500, it wasn't bad for an adult for trips under an hour or two.
I wouldn't want to ride in the back "seat" of anyone's extended cab, nor would I ask anyone I liked to do so...I've had to ride a couple times in the back of an F-250 and a Chevy 1500...neither was even remotely comfortable. Maybe a small child, but that would be it.
Then again, I rarely if ever have the need to carry more than one passenger, so the x-cab is fine for me. More of a place to put stuff than a person.

They're a lot better than what they used to be; you guys must remember the inward facing jump seats? 🤣

That space is perfect for Dogs, tools or groceries.

I'm a little surprised about the dislike of space in extended cab trucks. I've never been in a Ranger or Colorado, but my Dakota was OK, not great in the back seat. The back seat of my F-150 is fine, essentially as good or better than a mid sized sedan. I'm 6 foot tall and haven't found either of the trucks something to complain about.

Added another tool mount to the bed rack today. Was loosing my axle in the clutter back there...... View attachment 824239View attachment 824240
ArlyA, I really like those over the wheel well tool mounts! Where did you find them and what exactly are they called? I can't enlarge enough to read the red tag. I'd like to get a pair for my '99 Ram 1500. Thanks, Greg

Thanks for that info ArlyA, but the clamps aren't what I meant - I was asking about the frame that the tools are clamped onto? Did you find that on Amazon also? I thought that was an "excellent" idea for storage of misc items one might transport in the bed of a truck! Thanks

You don't see wheeled excavators all that often. Typically for city use in paved areas, I seem to recall. With the cage on the window and the grapple, I am guessing some sort of logging use.

That set up is pretty common in scrap yards.

Its a Liebherr 924 Material Handler. I'm not sure what the goofy two piece tooth setup are for but the 4 tooth version was there.
