On a negative accessory note, we can't locate a topper manufatuer for this truck. We've contacted Century (no responce yet) and ARE who said they have one in the works, but won't say when it will be out. We'd like the topper style that's a bit taller than the cab so we can get taller items in it. :irked:

I'd get a Truxedo Lo-Pro soft tonneau for it now, and wait till you find the best tall cap once they all start making them (probably next year). Then you can sell the tonneau if you want.

We may have to but the better ones sure are $$$$.

What is supposed to be so special about these to make them command such pricing? Don't think I've ever read a review that had much nice to say about them...even in Consumer Reports, whose charter forbids them from saying anything bad about toyotas. I don't see a disproportionate number of old ones around either, and if the quality/durability is anything like the turdra I had for a company truck at my last job that ain't much of a plus either.

ISTR they had kind of a cult following with the mud kiddies back in the 80s, but any off roaders I know today have either Chevys or Jeeps.
I don't get it.

I was scheduled for a new truck this year, but suggested instead that somebody else gets a new one a year early, and I take theirs instead. I thought that I was being stupid, but after finding out that he was getting a Tundra I'm thankful to be getting a 2 year old Chevy instead. I'm not brand loyal at all, it's just that there's something about the Tundra that I don't like.

We're brand loyal to "whatever works best" :) Nonetheless, our nearest Toy dealer was 2 hours away and recall crap was a pain to deal with.. The Fudge* dealership is 2 miles away and so far, they have treated us well.

If they made one with the V-8 and AWD like my SHO, I would buy one because 2019 is the last year for the SHO...

Had a 2008 ford taurus limited that was bullet proof up to 108,000 miles, sold it to a friend.Figured it was time to trade up to our 2018 limited AWD got a great deal on it only had 11,000 miles on the OD,local trade..Everyone wants a truck or SUV so cars IMHO are selling cheap.

Probably the fact that it's a complete dinosaur! Rather shocking Toyota has pretty much abandoned the full size truck market by leaving the Tundra to languish in obscurity. When I was truck shopping back in the spring, giving all makes a fair chance, I was rather shocked at the state of the "new" Tundra. I think only a Toyota fan-boy would purchase such a thing.

I finally got around to driving a ranger xlt yesterday. We dove on a pot hole filled bumpy road and I was a bit rattled. It is not as smooth as my F150.

Then I asked the salesman why the warning were not audible and he could not find a setting to turn on the audible warnings like blindspot and lane departure. Another salesman said the blindspot audio warning only come on when there is a car in your blindspot AND you cross over into that lane. That's too late and does not sound right. My KIA's safety warning Technology works flawlessly so I was a little disappointed in the Ranger. Did the dealer just not know his product and should I try another test drive at a different dealer? The lack of safety technology audio warnings is a deal breaker for me.

I wonder if there is an audible warning? My F150 blind spot warning is only the light in the mirrors. Cars I've driven with lane departure only had steering wheel vibration. I wouldn't want an audible blind spot warning. I never change lanes without looking in the mirror.

Don, We found the ranger, did not ride quite as nice as the taco did over bumps. A slight difference anyway.

We've liked the lane and collision warning signals system this ranger has. Maybe we're missing something?
