1997 Kawasaki Mule (engine blown)

Guys, I have a chance to buy a 1997 Kawasaki Mule 4 X 4, with a heated cab and a manual dump bed. But the engine is blown. It is going up for sealed bids at the company I work for tomorrow, I have pictures of it, but do not have the time to go look at it. the minimum bid is $250. first what is it worth and what would it cost to rebuild or find a used engine. also any suggestions on where to find a used engine would be appreciated.....see attached picture........thanks

bid on it what do you have to lose. you might just have to change the head gaskets or maybe just have the cylnders bored out. at the worste a complets engine swap would still be cheaper than a new one.then just think you can maybe put a bigger honda engine in it get you a little welding machine and mount away .it would be a nice project. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In that good shape, I think I'd bid up to $1500 if you want to fix it up for yourself and up to $1000 if you want to part it out and sell cab, dumpbed, tires, etc. on ebay. I'm sure you wouldn't get hurt on either price. If it were an unknown brand, it wouldn't be worth much, but there are thousands of those Mule 2500s in service. Dallas-Fort Worth Airport still has several in use as litter collection vehicles. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
