I bought an 8N 1950 Ford tractor that has been changed from a 6 volt to a 12 and the man said it just quit on him. When he checked the distributor shaft wasn't turning. We pulled it to see if it would start and the distributor shaft bend and broke the casing. We have replaced all the damged parts, timed it and it still won't start.

We have spark and fuel but the spark plugs don't get wet. I have tried starting fluid but nothing. I need help!

Thank you

John

Welcome fellow Canadian, sounds like you are not getting fuel from the carb to the cylinders. Have you checked your carb for any blockage.

Have you verified the timing with a timing light? If so, then you have to have a fuel problem. But since you have been working on the ignition side of things, I would pull the front plug and whether you have a spark by hooking the wire to it and laying it on the valve cover or manifold. You should see a reasonably bright yellow spark. If not, you have a wiring, points, or capacitor problem.
