Only if you disregard the manufactures guidance on fueling. They all say that you should let the engine cool before adding fuel. That where you ice filled cooler comes in. Put the battery in the cooler for 10 minutes and it will be cooled down enough to put on the charger. Richard

As someone suggested, you could have a bad battery. Take it out and go to a auto parts place and have them check it.

Assuming that your battery is the standard 12V wet cell, a proper working alternator or generator should be putting about 14.5 volts into the battery, measured at the battery, with the engine running at a fast idle or just above idle. Richard

Can you post a photo of the solenoid. You are on the right track, it sounds like the pull-in coil is not doing it's job. Is the solenoid a two or three wire ? Make some ohm measurements of the coils to ground. I don't know what the readings should be, but definitely not open. Richard

Actually you don't need a new cable. If the cable is long enough, you can just clip off the terminal back about 1/4" from the melted area and put on a new connector. Unless you you have the proper crimping tools, I suggest that you solder the new terminal on to the cable. Richard

Sounds like flooding to me. The typical way to clear a flooded engine is to crank the engine with the throttle wide open. Next time this happens, crank the engine for a few moments, then pull the plugs, look and see if they are loaded up with fuel. Richard

The guy in the video was taking a saw apart. I agree that you have to be careful when assembling stuff, but even then, using a power tool to run down the bolts and nuts with a low torque setting is just fine. The final torquing should aways done by hand.

You will have to check out the governor linkage and arm adjustment. Where is beenthere when you need him ?

I'm not going to ague over that statement. Get a copy of the engine repair manual, read up on the carb section and make sure that the governor is connected properly to the carb. Good luck. Richard

OK a couple of questions. 1. why not just clean and use the carb you have ? 2. is there room on the other side of where the carb is mounted to use one of the carbs that you found that have the fuel port on the opposite side from what your current carb has ?

Well there should have/could have been some part numbers on there, but no. So the search goes on.

Look closely at the carb. There should be a part number or model number on it and perhaps also the Mfg's name. Good photos. Richard

Can you post a photo of the carb. That will help us when we look for one for you. Interesting the you are seeing the carb with the fuel supply line on the wrong side. Richard
