Sounds like the adapter might be some kind of low-end, off shore adapter, kinda slapped together?
Not accusing you of being cheap.
Oh in this instance yes I am cheap. The plow is a resurrected 7' rear blade I got for cheap as it was. However, I discussed with the dealer on plow options but with the hydraulics and what they had available it was going to be many thousands of dollars more to get one set up. We were already in to many thousands of dollars (about $11k) in front end equipment and hydraulics so I went the other way and adapted what we already had.

Interesting note - the SSQA to 3pt adapter from Ebay was in the lower $200's if I recall. I was browsing Everything Attachments and they want over $1000 for one. Crazy.

Yeah, but that’s what it costs for quality American or Canadian attachments.
Here was mine. Converts Euro/Global to SSQA.
I don’t mind paying a price for quality, but USA/CD made stuff is now commonly 3 times the price of crap.
The last SSQA I had was my snowplow, I have sold that one.

I was swapping front end equipment this afternoon so I did some measuring. Aside from being still pretty cold (temp in the teens) we had a nice day here.

First up is my fork set.
View attachment 4995657

This measures about 45-1/8". This is a Land Pride fork set.

Next is the bucket.

View attachment 4995658

This measures about 45-1/16".

Next is the grapple. This one I had trouble getting the tape to cooperare for the measurement.

View attachment 4995660

This comes out to about 45-1/2".

Next is the loader arms on the tractor that mate to the SSQA receivers on the implements.

View attachment 4995661

This measures about 44-5/8". See more detail below regarding this number and the associated clearance.

Next is the SSQA to 3pt adapter we have.

View attachment 4995662

This measures right about 44-1/2".

When I try to hook up to this adapter this is the result:

Right side -

So for now what I do is squeeze the loader with a large bar clamp:

That gives me just enough "squeeze" to clear the adapter and connect:

Needless to say, the clamp method on the loader like this is a pain in the butt. But it works.

When the weather warms Ill cut the sides of the adapter pate and lay more metal over that to open up another 1/4" on each side (1/2" total).

My gut tells me much less than 3/8" clearance total would make mating the loader arms unnecessarily difficult.
I bought the same exact adapter from Ebay and have had no problems connecting it. I'm going to measure mine and compare, I measured the adapter plate today 44 3/8 but no problems. Very happy with the quality.

I got the adapter from eBay and it works fine. People might think I am foolish for buying CCC (Cheap Chinese Crap), I think they are foolish for spending four times more for American steel.

Then call me a fool, but I can’t deal with stuff made that cheaply. I also am doing more commercial usage than the average TBN’er
My Ebay CCC adapter was actually about $500. It was an Euro to SSQA adapter though and they cost more than the OP’s adapter.
American made was $1,150. So it was a little more than double the price.
I had to learn that lesson the hard way.
The US made fit perfect, the handles didn’t have sharp edges to cut your hands, and the springs actually held the handles in the up position when releasing.

Well worth it, IMO.
China sucks lol
Buy once, cry once, etc.

Those are my excuses. YMMV.

Well, we are comparing apples to coconuts:

The adapter for SSQA to 3 PH does not have handles (a minor issue anyway as sharp edges are solved with 20 minutes of grinder work or a file) or springs (that could be upgraded for $50 or less). I don't expect the same build quality on something that is 1/2 the price of the "good stuff". But I am not a contractor.

I cannot justify spending the premium, so I either do without or buy the CCC. And I cannot take a tax write off on most of the stuff I buy. I have to play with my own money.

I bought a CCC SSQA plate for a custom attachment I designed for lifting bulk bads of wood. I paid $110 for it delivered. When I took it to the shop the owner of the shop criticized some of the welds but was honest enough to admit it was a steal. He said he could not have bought the steel at that price. He beefed up the welds at minimal cost and I have lifted over 2000 pounds with it multiple times without problems.

Yeah, not everything is to specs.
Seriously just grind a quarter inch off the edges and you're good to go. I had to do a similar thing to my brand new hyd bucket. It sucks doing it to a new item but it is what it is on farm equipment./

On my '21 LS Mt235 when connecting to my new el-cheapo forks it fits fine at the top but the plunger locks are just barely touching the edge of the holes and the brand spanking new LandPride (Kubota) 4in1 hyd bucket I bought I had to grind at least 1/4 inch from the bottom of the holes of the bottom lock pin plate as the plunger locks wouldn't fit. It's like the slots in the plate are too shallow on the bucket.

Exactly! The first thing a personn should do on their new tractor is modify it - weld hooks on the bucket and forks, weld a hitch receiver, make a took box mount, chainsaw mount, etc. Why not? It's for work. I've also seen trucks that look like they've never carried anything in the back either because it might scratch the bed.

You can see the extra steel on the “ear” on the side of the SSQA plate. There’s plenty of steel that can be ground off without compromising anything.

The clamp he’s using is hilarious. We would have ground off the plate, or bought a properly fitting adapter after about the first minute of that nonsense.
