Why not just take apart the spools and replace the original springs with stiffer ones of the same dimensions?
Happy New Year @dfkrug !! Good call. That is actually on my radar. I want to find a parts machine so that I can pull some springs and reverse engineer them.

We built a machine "Compatibility Checker" to help people confirm if the spring mod kits will fit their controls.

Please let me know if your model is missing or if you get an inaccurate response...brand new and a work in progress. Thanks!

I have been working on my new kit spring design the past few months and just started prototype testing. Here is a short video of the new barrel springs running. I am excited to get the new kits into machines.

I am a newb at video editing but need to figure it out so I built this video using the prototype testing video my customer sent me during his Rippa RS20 install...a before and after.

A Nuote KCS NS-15 before and after...it is incredible how dead the factory controls are.

I have been actively searching for name brand use cases and had one pop up recently. My friend, who is a journeyman union operator here in Oregon, mentioned an annoying characteristic involving his CAT 323 machine. He does not like the autopilot for moving that machine long distances. He prefers hands free using foot pedals. He notices that without a hand on his joysticks, they will cavitate (wobble forward-backward) enough to engage functions slightly and slow down his travel speed. I had not seen under the boots of an electronic control machine so he sent me the attached picture...looks like the universal spring-loaded plungers to me.

He is not back on that site until Winter and the rainy season are done but he has a set of my spring kits to experiment with. Jury is still out but I am excited to see outcomes later in the Spring.

Here is a video showing the wobble behavior on that CAT 323C machine.
