How do you plow snow?

How do y'all remove snow? Plow truck, snowblower, 3-point back blade, etc.
Our primary snow mover is the 1989 Jeep Cherokee XJ with a 6'6" Western snowplow. It does a real good job with a front diff lock, 5 speed with the 4.0L. It's nice to have a heated cab. Traction becomes an issue in wet, sloppy spring snows though.

Nice plow rig! I wish i was in out of the cold with a heater, lol.
Kubota BX23s with the front loader and a quik-hitch with a 5ft rear blade. Nothin fancy, but gets the job done for me.

Shovels and walk-behind Snowblowers, for all my life so far -- although this will be my first winter with a tractor, so I'm expecting that I'll find uses for the FEL bucket in moving snow around, and it's possible I'll get a 3-pt back blade for other uses, really, but maybe also useful for snow... Open-station tractor, so still out in the weather!

Edit to add: I did have use of a small plow rig on a DR Field & Brush Mower "tractor" at one property that I used to manage. Still "walk-behind" out in the weather. BTW, the snow blower that went with that DR pretty much sucked -- only a single stage, and the blower was not as wide as the DR's wheels....

My primary rig is a cabbed tractor with 7' front and rear blades, rear snow blower for large dumps. I have a Western plow for my F250 8' bed crew cab, but it's a royal pain plowing driveways with it.

Rear 3 point blower but i haven’t used the blower much because not much snow here the past couple years.
Been mainly using 9 foot rear blade which weighs 1,400+ pounds, works pretty well.
Previous 20+ years I plowed snow with 8N Ford tractor and rear blade, got the job done but if it was extremely cold it could get miserable without a cab, I do have a pretty big yard and driveway.

After many decades we have evolved to what's pictured. Next if we live long enough will be a cabbed machine. From shovels ... to walk behind blowers ... to garden tractors that never really worked well .... to an efficient system. All about money.

Heavy snow I use my Cabbed Kioti but for light stuff I also have a plow on one of my quads and/or my JD 790. I also have a 3 point blower if needed but we have not had a winter require blower in several years.

Up until this winter, I've used my open cab bucket with shoes. Wife wanted an option for her, just in case. UTV with 5' plow does well in the couple of powder storms we've had so far, nothing more than 6". I imagine breaking out the tractor mid winter to move banks back a bit.

When I first bought the land, I plowed the private road with a 7' Western plow, modified to fit the FEL on my open station Kubota L3010HST. As I got older, the exposure to Winter weather began to take it's toll on my arthritis and I switched to a 7 1/2' plow on a pickup.

When it came time to replace the truck in 2021, I was going to transfer the plow from the old truck to the new one but changed my mind when I wrote the check. New pickup trucks are just too dang expensive to beat up by plowing snow.

Instead, I traded my Kubota L6060HST open station for an L6060HSTC cabbed version and started using an 8' LandPride FEL plow.

My latest upgrade was to swap the Fressori ash spreader with a self loading HLA scatter shot aggregate spreader.

Due to the economy during the Covid years, the low hours & miles on the trades and their excellent condition, I got great deals on both the truck & tractor. The total cost for both trades was just under $16K. Well worth the cost since these old bones can now plow & spread anti skid without leaving the comfort of the heated cab.

I don't post here much as I really mainly use my tractor to clear the drive but, I have used it for smoothing out the yard after getting the lean-to built and reclaiming the parking area from grass along the edges. This will be my second year with this.

In the last 5 years I've used this, after trying ATV, truck with a plow etc. 2019 TYM T474 with a 2.3l inline 4 n/a mechanical injected diesel with 48.3Hp. VERY satisified with this machine. Currently 625h on it.
