I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I was out with mine again today helping a friend cut up a good sized oak tree. He was using his Stihl MS361 on the bottom half of the tree, and I used my Joncutter 2511 on the top half of the tree. We met in the middle. Granted, he was cutting bigger diameter, but I did the limbing. If I'm cutting anything 10" or less, I use the 2511

Yup, if the bar fits, I'm using the 2511!

If your not in a hurry on the bigger stuff they will do it. I try and keep it under 12" before grabbing the 50cc.

Does anyone know if an oil cap from another saw will fit oil tank? Looked at Echo but it looks to large. Mine is a bear to get loose. Seems to unscrew ok after I get it broke free; gas cap seems ok. Usually have to put Allen wrench or scrench on it to get broke free then unscrews easily. Tighten to finger tight and then can't break it free without help.

I’ll try to remember to check in the next couple days but I think the small Husky flippy cap fits. I’m almost positive I saw a pic of the bigger flippy in the 2511 gas hole too.

Did you know you can use the handle on the pull cord to aid with leverage to help loosen the caps:

Yep that is a oem echo thing.

But I like the husky flip caps best. Only thing, only one fits the clones.

Husky got their flip caps right. Screw in can be uses on old or new caps on their tanks. Even dolmar, echo etc.

Unlike a stupid design of the stihl versions. Only fit newer stihl tanks.

Not using no stihl flip cap on any other makers saw that is for sure.

Simple cap screw in compared to a stihl flip cap parts.

Be interesting to see these better husky designed flip caps in parts too. I can only see 3-4.

Might be “stupid” to you, but its “smart” to Stihl. If their caps are proprietary, then nobody can buy other brands of caps to replace them on their saws.

I have no issues with either brand.

But stihl ones are over engineered stupidity.
