20 inch chainsaw recommendation

I’ve had good luck with the Kobalt 80V chainsaw. It’s technically an 18-inch bar, but it cuts like a beast—plenty of power for most jobs around the yard. Super easy to use and low maintenance. If you’re not set on gas, definitely consider it. Kobalt makes solid, reliable tools.

Never be an electric powered saw on this farm except for maybe a small limbing saw. Just not into the green crap.

I thought the same thing until I ran a neighbors 80 volt Kobalt. I'll keep my big Echo for felling and bucking the big stuff. The Kobalt can handle 80% of what I do around the farm.

I do have an electric saw, A Bauer 20 volt with a 15" bar actually, but that is it. I does okay and I have a tom of Bauer batteries as well as tools.

My little Echo 2511T weighs so little and is such a screamer, you have no desire for an electric saw. There is no stopping and recharging, just fill up and get back to work. I will never own another electric saw again.

Here’s my Stihl 261C cutting through a oblong shaped ash log on July1st.
It was about 20” x 30”
It struggled, smoked, coughed, sputtered and just barely cut the log. I was disgusted and second guessed myself for ever considering Stihl….”shoulda bought an Echo” I thought to myself, “or maybe a Husky”. I thought for sure she’d window the block and force me to buy another saw.

Just kidding 😇
Went through it like a hot knife through butter and begged for more. Great go-to saw that will tackle almost anything. Light enough to be used all day, but enough power to handle most normal size trees easily.

I bet someday we all will own electric saws. It’s just a matter of time. So much more practical.
Once the battery technology gets here, they’ll over run the gas saws for most applications.
Same will probably happen with tractors, trucks, etc.

The push towards all-electric has started. It hasn’t taken over, but someday even my farm tractors will probably change to electric.
It all depends on how much battery technology improves in the upcoming years.

As used not that at all :ROFLMAO: 😂. G3120 is hair over 23lbs PHO empty.

Because a 880 is 32lbs with 36" Cannon bar filled up used. I would guess 27ish with only a 20".

There is no stopping them 20". 😁

Everyone runs them with short bars for play. Go to a chainsaw GTG sometime. Their a blast with like minded folks that love chainsaws.
