That'll be what happens if the machine can't fit thru the door.

But the tractor did not complainDidn't even get the jeep into neutral.![]()
My largest tractor is a John Deere 1025R with 25hp. The loader only picks up about 800 pounds. When I purchased it, the salesman just told me to buy a cheap old forklift. For off-road use it does mostly what I need to do but still need something that lifts more and a lot higher around the concrete. I don't think that size tractor can pick up enough with its hydraulic system to make a 3-point lift.Do you have a tractor? I have built 2 forklifts that fit in the 3-point linkage of a tractor. I bought the mast, ram and forks from scrap dealers for a couple of hundred dollars and welded a frame with pins to suit a quick hitch and got hydraulic hoses made. they work well on 20 to 50-hp tractors and give stability on gravel and grass. I also made a fork set up that went on to a front-end loader and it had a thumb to hold loads in place, again I got the forks and frame from scrap dealers and welded Euro hitch for quick easy fitting, this worked well on an 80 Hp tractor
TBN rules. No pictures, it never happened....and don't try to stack loaded pallets in your garage, watching the fork tips, and punch a hole in your bedroom floor with the mast.

Modding one from electric to lp/gas, have you heard it done yet? I think this may be the other half of the issue since not everyone is ready to go electric.Be very careful about buying chinese. You need to know EXACTLY what you want, the chinese know how to deliver bare minimum of spec. Also there is slow parts backup when dealing direct(everything from china).
My brother found that when he bought a mini excavator.
$9950 asking priceHow is the prices on used Moffet/Piggyback fork lifts? I don't think I've really ever seen them used, but I have also never sought them out. They have a faily low mast, can atleast stack to 60", and are meant foe mixed terrain
Edit: a very quick search found some at $21,000; but i didn't keep digging to see if that was the cheap ones

The comparison of a forklift vs skidsteer would make the skidsteer more appealing then these.
Yeah, a third the price I'm thinking. I budgeted $12,500 for a skidsteer.A tracked skid steer is obviously way more versatile than the forklift. I’ve never had an actual off road forklift but I expect the big wheel ones with 4x4 would offer comparable results to the skid steer. The skid steer will far exceed the off-road ability of a moffit or regular pneumatic tire forklift. The regular forklift or moffit will far exceed the maneuverability of the skid steer. I expect the actual off road forklift is more comparable to the skid steers maneuverability. The forklift will beat the skid steer in lift capacity and lift height although the skid steer is capable of exceeding your 3,000 pound requirement. The biggest problem with a skid steer is the cost far exceeds the $3,000 budget.

It seems after the feedback on this thread that would be the case. It looks more like $5k to keep up with the Jones'.That’s still pretty low for a machine big enough to lift 3k.
