I nearly got the pan done today and added the weight peg and the wing attachments points. Wings are soft that will round the outer edges of the trail, which is better for skiing. 1st is of the shop.

Great looking work you do there!
That looks like a real deluxe groomer to me.

Your shop is way too neat, mine always looks worked in.

Looks like you have good taste in welders, as I see a few blue Miller boxes in there.
I have a 211 MIG machine and I love it. It's capable of producing much better welds than I am able make.

Its the Hancock school shop I get to use which is overly crowed but still great to use. I personally own almost no steel working tools myself.

I got work done today and yes, the shop teacher opened up to allow kids (and us adults ) to come in and work on projects. This is what the shop looks like.

I've got the pan cleaned and painted this past week and on Monday, the instructor said he'd have the shop open again. I've got the plastic here to cover the pans front with. Its 3/16 black HDPE if anyone cares. The comb from Yellowstone track systems and rubber wing material is yet to show up. Any questions??

Looks like a well equipped shop. I wish we would have had a shop like that when I was in HS in the '60s.
Fortunately, I did get to use some shop tools at my dad's construction company when I worked there on Summer breaks.

I used to haul machinery for a local dealer, and we would pick up presses, brakes, iron workers, lathes, mills and other types of equipment for them, and I always lusted for an iron worker and a Bridgeport.

I didn't get much work done to the roller this week, since I couldn't get into the school shop much.. One thing I did get done was work on the pan "lock up" system. The black piece you see holding the pan up is 1/4 black HDPE and yes, it needs more done to it.

What little snow we got here, is going down... Got the roller home today. 1st shot is the HDPE what will be mounted to the pans front/bottom side. This photo is looking at its bottom side.

I'm still waiting on YTS for the comb. I thought it would be here by now so I just emailed the YTS owner. I can't recall its $$$ but it is expensive. I build extra length pintle hitch for use with pods and sell them for $85 plus shipping. Would you like one??

those are nice looking, I assume they fit in a standard 2" receiver hitch. I just have a ball way down on the axle of my Honda foreman 450. You must have a receiver hitch on your 6x6.

Seems most ATV's and UTV's are coming out with standard 2" receiver hitches these days. Our 2014 Sportman boss came with one. If not, aftermarket versions seem to be available for pretty much everything. We love these 2" receivers since it makes switching from ball to pintle, a snap. I'd guess you can get one for your Honda. :confused3:

i head from Dave at YTS who had not sent us comb yet but he might be able to this week. :( Jonsstihl, I see 2" aftermarket hitches are available for Honda foreman 450's.

We took a decidedly simpler approach at Rancho SuperiorLakeEffect:

Thanks for the skiing invite earlier- wish I could have joined you, but between work, school, and house projects I keep a pretty full dance card so it's hard to get away on short notice.

Two new machines showed up at the school shop yesterday. Here was one of them. The other was a cnc plasma torch.

That's quite an impressive drill press.

The CNC Plasma machine is a fabricator's dream.

I'll try getting a photo of the plasma torch table next time when I'm back at the shop for you BravoX. I'm pretty sure its this table by Bailiegh. We've had warmish temps here for the past week and even had drizzle falling here yesterday, so our snow has really gone down. The comb I ordered from YTS should show up next week...
