Dumb Battery Question.

Now that this is mainly (or entirely?) being imported, I wonder how pure it is compared to batteries years ago.

I know of only 2 makes that have a 99.9% lead purity and they are Odyssey and NorthStar, there may be others, but I don't know which ones.

there are some John Deere batteries that have Silver included, for more CCA,(less loss)..

The Northstar NSB (perhaps other series as well) have 99.99% purity. These are the same as Canadiantire's Eliminator Ultra XD AGM batteries and they also make Exide's pure lead AGM batteries. IMO are super excellent
