History of the San Jacinto Monument and Museum

Other than March 2, Texas Independence Day, San Jacinto Day is the biggest day in Texas History.


Texas is the only state to have an Independence Day celebration.

The Battle at San Jacinto and the signing of the Treaties at Velasco ended the Texas Revolution and began the Republic of Texas. Over one third of the US land mass changed hands as a result.
