I am like you, I went with a 16K 20' + 4' tilt bed. The 4' stationary is big enough for my needs and I really like the low bed tilt. easy to load anthing including my wife's Can-Am - Spyder 3 wheel motorcycle.

The Gator has a much stronger gooseneck made out of 12" "I" beams and the frame is all 6" square tube.

It's a beast that's easy to handle.

To get more load capacity you will need to get out of the 15" tires and get into a 16" tire. I would be inclined to look at the 14k capacity trailers, they are plentiful and often in the same price range as the 10k trailers or atleast in south Texas they are. Have you thought about having a rack built on the front of the trailer tongue to rest the FEL on in the upright position and high enough to clear your camper top? I have a 20' Gooseneck that I haul my 54hp case on with a 7' brush hog and do basically the same thing. The FEL rests on the GN part, tires to the front and I have minimum over hang on the rear with brush hog and disc. As far as tire height, you can get low profile 16" LR E tires to keep the trailer bed height down. I did this on one trailer I had at one time that I used a cattle insert on to haul cattle.

I see you are in Wyoming. I suggest keeping the 18' trailer and then buying a new 24'. There is a reputable PJ trailer in Scottsbluff, Ne (Ryans welding & trailer sales) that we have a new 24' on order through right now.

Thanks but that would be a 1100 mile round trip taking 16 hrs according to mapquest.

I will be in Idaho this weekend and plan on spending some time looking at new trailers.

About 3 weeks ago I went and bought a new trailer. I have been pretty busy since so I didn't post anything about it but here is a quick picture I took of it at the dealers place.

I had heard of the Iron Bull Trailers but hadn't seen one before this one. Apparently they recently got into building the car/equipment hauler type trailers. The dealer had both PJ and Iron Bull trailers so I was able to directly compare the two. From my understanding, PJ trailers are one of the better trailers but after comparing it to the one I bought I feel the Iron Bull is a little better trailer.

It is a 14k 7'x20' with a dovetail. 4 bolts hold on the fenders so they are easy to remove if necessary. It includes stake pockets, rub rails, pipe spools and D-rings for tying down loads. The 10k jack is bolted to the front of the deck but can be moved towards the front of the tongue easily if I decide to install my winch at the front of the deck. Plus I chose to get the slide in ramps rather than the fold down ones for my purposes.

The dealer spent quite a bit of time showing me how the PJ and Iron Bull compare and made me a good price so I pulled the trigger. Maybe this weekend I will get a chance to load the tractor on it.
