Thinking about selling dump truck and buying dump trailer

I received a quote from Midsota trailers today.
They are proposing (3) 8k oil bath axles 17.5” rim/tire and would build it with a 3” coupler.
I still don’t know how that gets me to a 10 ton payload.

Thats 3 single wheel axles, right? Not triple duels? What's your preference, 2 duals, or even singles? 3 singles dont like to turn sharp.

I’d prefer (2) 15k axles with dual 17.5” rims, like my Kaufman flatbed

dump trailers have very low gvwr’s compared to flatbeds.

Only 1 trailer manufacturer offers an option of a 3” coupler (midsota), but they don’t offer any gvwr higher than 24,000.
Surprised Diamond C wouldn’t do it.

Is that Galvanized ? if you are planning to keep it a while you might want to consider Galvanized if its not already in your plans...

It’s probably come up before but have you thought about a full blown semi and trailer? It’s probably to awkward and big for your use.

Sure, no you are right, I have considered it.
I am in an area where many entrances to fields are very tight. A semi would work in some, but not nearly enough.

I have found some very interesting dump trailers.
Texas Pride and Horizon.

Both offer 30,000GVWR and many other features I need. I’m very optimistic I am going to get this done. Just need to sell my IH-7500 dump first, then go dump trailer shopping.
