The WICKED Root & Debris GRAPPLE!!!!!!!

That could be mine!! 60" double lid with intermediate tines. Shipped yesterday and scheduled to be here Tuesday.

Travis told me there were 2 ordered exactly the same way and they went through production together. He sent me pictures of the twins together :)

I believe the other one is mine. I gotta wait a little longer, it's coming all the way out west. You don't see many Wicked Grapples out here.

I see a new clothing line opportunity there Travis!!!

How do I place my order for the dual pocket? :drink:

It's a little reminiscent of a Wrangler ad, isn't it? Instead of Brett Farve, we have Peanut!

The WICKED Root & Debris GRAPPLE!!!!!!!

Thanks

Basically proving my point. 3 responders with multiple experience out of how many people who come here.

2 of them would keep both and one who prefers the single lid.

So how many others have owned and used both single and dual lid in say the same size?
How many others like us have owned both small and large grapples?
How many who have an add on grapple on a bucket and don't think they ever need more?

I know a guy with a 3 in one bucket and an other guy who has a grapple on a set of forks they would both argue they see no need to have anything else but yet they have never had any experience with anything else.

So imagine if everyone here had the multiple use on multiple properties experience. I would think we would see the list asked for but it would be surprising for some to realize just how untrue the one answer, one size, one theory fits everyone is so wrong.

If I could only own 1 grapple it would be a 72"dual lid but ten years ago that answer would have been different and 30 years ago even different still. 50 years ago I would have asked why waste the money on something I don't need and 70 years ago my dad would have made me load everything by hand and I would be dreaming about something that could make this darn chore go quicker and easy.:)

Pray tell how does it prove your point that dual lids are definitely better? There were four responses. Two guys say they like both. One prefers single and you prefer double. How does that "prove your point"? Do you work in the White House and like alternative facts?

I have the same tractor you do. I've had a single 48" grapple for ten years and have not once in that time had difficulty clamping a load. And, my lid is narrower and nowhere near as well designed or built as the EA single lid. It does the job. I will note that my 48" Millonzi has a max jaw opening of 42+" which I make use of all the time. What brand and model of single lid grapple did you have and compare??

You don't mention what your typical grapple load or use is but I can list quite a number of examples where a dual 72" would be at a disadvantage compared to mine. For example, working in tight spaces like the woods. Digging stumps or rocks. Lifting loads close to loader max lift capacity. Seeing the edge of the grapple without needing to lean outboard around the FEL arms.

I've often mentioned that cleaning construction debris would be a place where a wider grapple would be preferable. Carrying cut firewood is another although a bucket grapple would be even better.

Everyone loves their grapple and any grapple is clearly superior to none. My first grapple has simply done the job so well that I just don't need to have a second one lying around. If I wanted I could afford ten but I just haven't had a need for a different grapple. I manage with my dinky $500 grapple plus a standard bucket, a 4n1, forks, tree boom and ratchet rake. I wouldn't trade any of them for a wider, heavier grapple.

My main point in this thread has always been to point out that a narrow single lid grapple can do just about any job you'd want a grapple for. I'd love to hear specifics on what your experience was with what type of single that left you wanting a wider heavier grapple.

Unsubscribing would be unhelpful because quite often the info you share is helpful. Beating this single lid dead horse, however, stopped being helpful about 1500 posts ago.

I read this entire thread when I started looking for a grapple and learned so much I'm grateful for. I suspect many in my shoes would do the same and seeing page after page of never ending defense of narrow single lid grapples ruined this thread for me. If I were referring someone here I'd have to also caveat it with a warning to disregard a lot of the content. We get it. There are options. But enough already.

I'm sorry for taking up space here creating exactly the type of post that takes up space and adds zero value.

Would it grow more if you offered free shipping to the west coast?

No such thing as free shipping in the real world. There is simply a markup that covers the maximum shipping in the radius they offer. If they started shipping "free" to the west coast the price would increase across the board. I'd prefer to see that markup come off and everyone pay the shipping for their area.

I don't know if it would increase if it was terminal delivery. I have had vendors do that. Not to the west coast but when I was out of the free delivery zone. It removes the local delivery costs.

This is a very long thread that has been carefully shepherded by Travis for EA marketing purposes (note how Travis loves all grapples and never disagrees with anyone....unlike those of us who just like grapples, Travis loves grapples because they feed his family. Does anyone ever criticize Travis for saying "cool grapple" to new owners?).

A lot of good discussions are buried in here though I don't doubt for a moment that a lot of it is repetitious. How many original things can be said about metallic contraptions that use hydraulic power to temporarily force man's wishes on Mother Nature? How many grapple photos do you need to see?

This is the longest active grapple thread so potential grapple buyers are likely to run across it as they educate themselves before making a purchase. Most participants in this thread start by asking a few questions then make a purchase decision and disappear. But this is more than simply a marketing tool for EA (apologies to Travis). IMO this is a discussion forum and not simply a showcase for new EA grapple baby pictures. And, I doubt many potential grapple owners start from post one and read through. Some points are bound to be repeated and honest disagreements will pop up repeatedly. I plead guilty to reiterating certain arguments and points. Mea culpa. If someone says something I disagree with I tend to respond. Habits formed by forty years of arguing in academia are hard to break.

Awesomely honest and well put. Carry on IT.

My grapple arrives to FedEx tomorrow. Pics to follow

Here is another use for the 72" Wicked Twin!! Its just barely wide enough to hold 2 stacks and still be able to drive to the trench.
