55°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 66°F today. Expecting some substantial rain tonight and into tomorrow.

Fencing crew showed up yesterday morning and worked until they were run off by the rain around noon. Three guys, and they got about half of it done. Impressive work.

So live each day to all. You never know.

Today is the only day we really have. Besides this moment, everything else is either a dream or a memory.

I'm really getting tired of these snake scares. This one while weedeating by the front gate. This is the snake Harvey made from Grandpa's old rasp in his blacksmith forge. It still makes me jump when I'm not paying attention.

I've heard of copperheads, but I thought steelheads were confined to lakes and rivers! And with friends like Harvey...

Good Morning! 55F @ 7:00AM Mostly cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 68F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Congrats on the anniversary, Buckeyes! 30 years is a long time for anything to last, especially a marriage.

Seems like nothing simple turns out that way. The gun I bought for applying the bedliner i used on the poptop and damaged luggage carrier was chosen because a) it was in stock and the cans used with it to hold what was being sprayed were as well, and b) the gun that was made to work with the bottles the bedliner comes in would only work with those bottles. So imagine my surprise and disappointment when I went back to the same supplier yesterday and was told he had to order the cans for the gun I bought. Compounded by the Groundhog Day like run around when I asked him why the cans weren't in stock, to which he replied by asking what I was spraying, which I replied "bedliner" and he recommended I purchase the other gun, which I reminded him wouldn't work with anything but the bedliner, to which he replied that the gun I bought would only work with other containers with the same thread as the cans he didn't have in stock, to which I replied was purchased because I can put anything I want in the cans and they were reputed to be readily available when I bought the gun that I did. Experiences like this make me crustier by the minute, and it was all I could do to keep from reaching across the counter and grabbing him by the throat to try to shake some sense into him.:pullinghair::duh::banghead: So now the cans won't be in 'till Wednesday, just in time for another Pineapple Express to make painting impossible. Gonna try to make do with what I have today and hope it doesn't turn into a big mess.

Things were somewhat subdued at the mechanic's yesterday. He laid down the law and I think the ersatz partner and assistant were trying to lay low, while the mechanic's helper was unusually busy and focused. The other one that was unofficially rehired was MOA, part of the reason he was let go to begin with.

I made small progress with wiring, finding that when I installed the poptop roof I'd put two wiring bundles in the wrong locations, and had to cut one and then splice it back together to get it right. Also learned that the wing window pivot I'd painted got too loose to use when a washer in the pivot disintegrated due to rust, and had to salvage another one from a parts van. It also needs paint, so guess what I'm doing today? While I'm at it, I'll refinish the VW emblem that goes on the grill, replacing the beat up chrome with blue to match the body, then finish off the lower portions in black semigloss, same as will be used on the pivot. Also need to fab a bracket for the SPOT trace, and gather up more tools to take in tomorrow to now hopefully finish installation of the window seals on the driver's door.

Nothing simple, remember? :confused2:

70 right now, around 80 later.

I might have to cut my BP meds back since I lost a little weight, I felt almost faint yesterday morning, buzzy head for lack of a better description. Got Lynn to check my BP and it was 112 /62, not real low, but enough to affect me.

Beautiful morning, headed to 50s with frost on grass currently. Septic pumper will be here Friday, fixed flapper on toilet, cleaned valve again. All seems fine for now.

Grand daughter moved into her own bedroom. She will be 3 this Friday and such a joy to be around. Daughter leaves for work early and before she leaves, puts baby monitor in our room so we can hear when grand daughter gets up.. only she doesn't always make noise now. I found her in the living room, jabbering away this morning sitting in chair looking out window. She was going on about her Mommy going to work and it was not dark out anymore... She is in bed with Nana now watching cartoons while I work.

67°F and .18 inches rain last 24 hours, morning drizzle as I type.

My new internet connection arrives today. Fingers crossed I get it functional.
Seems. What was described to me as a transitional period with my old provider is actually just a 15 day reprieve. Last conversation with him indicated his displeasure with the failure of some of us to fix his problem.

Be safe
Have a great day

Welcome to my world, the world of Quality Assurance, completely misunderstood by all.

Seriously, though, good luck with your new internet connection.
