My Kubota L4850DT-W with 7' McKee blower. I got this in the summer of 2014 and we have had almost no snow since. Last winter I built the cab.
Details on that here ----> http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...-diy-cab-build-kubota-l4850dt.html?highlight=

I (kind of) hope we get some real snow this winter.

Wow !!!! I just read your whole cab-build thread and I am completely impressed. It's especially meaningful to me because I looked for a cab a long time too. I've had L4150 and 2 L5450's, all have the same L3 chassis as your L4850. I went the golf cart tent route for a couple seasons and then luckily found a used L5450 for sale with a Laurin cab already installed. I bought it and sold my open-station tractor.

The overall execution of your cab is very impressive. There is a ton of design and fitment work required getting to the high level of your finished product. At the time I was looking the Laurin factory still had a new comfort cab in inventory which with shipment and installation would have been around $14k. That sounds steep until one considers all the detail there is to it, (doors, heat, wipers, lights, etc) Theirs also has an integrated ROPs.

Again, great job - hats off !!
Take care, Dick B.

The wing plow has a telescoping push-arm that pins to the tractor drawbar.

You should post those videos you made a year or so back...
I've seen 'em...in fact, I downloaded them...always fun to watch!

Dick,
Thanks for the compliments.
I was a lurker here long before I ever signed up. When the L4850DT came up for sale I started doing lots of research. Your glowing reviews of the Lxx50 series convinced me that I would like the tractor. I really liked it at first, but with the cab it is even better.
My cab clears the ROPS, so the ROPS is fully functional.

Hi Rob - yes, I know you were able to design around the original ROPS. Part of the Laurin's big price was they designed the whole cab for roll-over strength - they made it so stiff and heavy it even needed stronger frame posts from the rear axle up to the fenders. I swapped my backhoe subframe over to the cab tractor, which added several hundred pounds down low, helping to counter the effect of the Laurin's high-located mass. I think yours has a cleaner look and has the advantage of keeping the center of gravity lower.

I take off the doors and rear window for mowing and I prefer removing the loader too. The valve is now located on the cab, with couplers on the 4 hoses that connect to either loader or blower. Dick B

Thanks Roy.
Will post.. hope to get some new ones this year with my son's GoPro (if we get enough snow to use the wing). Only had it on for a one-time use last winter. Takes about 5 minutes to roll it out and hook it up.

Bl2664 60" , I think, kubota snowblower vs Lucknow 72 inches? Same price and usage. Opinions?

Today I got the dirt weapon uninstalled

Then I had a naked little tractor for a couple of hours

And finally I got the new snow weapon attached . Pretty pumped for some snow :D

Taking the backhoe off for the first time went fairly well . Hopefully getting it back on will go smooth as well !

Amarsh, I take it off all the time, literally takes 3 minutes. My question is for all the snowblower owners out there. I have a possible lucknow 72 inch snowblower I might get a friend to look at..as I won't be home for a while. The owner says its a shear pin. What do most think of shear pins as opposed to the slip clutch. I'd prefer the slip clutch, but Do most think a shear pin is alright. Said the blower wasn't used much at all, its $2100 Canadian. I think their getting close to $4000 if new, around these parts anyway, but then I noticed other prices under $3000 elsewhere in Canada. There is also a 62 inche Kubota snowblower also..not sure if that has a clutch or not. My tractor is 5 feet wide, so 60 inches there abouts...

I wouldn't be afraid of a shear pin - just make sure it is the correct pin in it. I agree a slip clutch is nicer in that if you hit something you don't have to go to the shop and if I was making my living with it I would want a slip clutch but for home use I think a shear pin is fine. The price sounds right if it is good. I am not familiar with the brand though.

Heavy made blower. Their alright. Is it pretty quick to replace the pin? Carry a few extras and just replace where is? I was wondering if I could buy a slip clutch and convert

My brother in-law has a Lucknow. He drove to Canada and picked it up at the factory. Maybe 15 years old now. Well made unit.

Here is my weapon. Works great.
your blower set up looks identical to mine. Is that a 66 inch dual stage blower with hydraulic shute? Your under carriage quick connect has 2 pins to drop it down etc. How do you like mounting it yourself or do you need some help doing it.

K man, mine is the 63" 2 stage blower. It is a hydraulic chute left and right) but I did not opt for the hydraulic chute deflection. I have wide open areas on both sides of my driveway and the pole barn, so I dont have to be a sniper with it. Its an area fire weapon.

Yes, I put the subframe on and off my self. If you hook the subframe on the the mount on the front first, the two pins go on easy.

Same here I do not need the chute deflection as I live in the bush with a long driveway and don't have to worry about snipping the neighbours. lol Mine a 66 inch and love it, last week we got about 16 inches of snow and my blower was not on the tractor so had to clear with the FEL and back blade and hated it. The next day my blower was installed and blew out the mess left by my FEL. Can't live without my front mount blower. Like you said the first pin is the hardest but once in the other is easy. Now I am armed and ready for the next snow.
