Oh no! It was purely a compliment. My detached building is wood framed and sided like the house. I hope it's still standing in 50 years but it sure won't age as nice as the front or yours.

Yes, Thank you. After reading it, I realized it was positive.. I just misread it at first.

Beautiful brick work. Reminds me of the old streetcar barn in Greensburg, Pa, circa 1930s. Long gone now.

I actually tried to look up some of the photos. If you can find some on the internet, post a couple. I am curious to see.

Oh my! Its full and dirty already.

Ha Ha, Yes. I have to drive through some mud for now to get in there. You wouldn't believe how many times its been swept out. As for being filled, yes, I need an addition already Ha ha. I needed to start getting stuff out of the garage since it was filled to the max. I'll soon have two cars in there!!! wife will be happy. ( one of the cars is for sale so will then be out soon. )

That's the problem I had with my barn when I insulated and finished the inside. I had to move everything I owned at least three times.

Yes, I can see having to do this in sections. Nothing really on any of the walls just yet. I am going to get a quote from a local guy just to see his ball park and pick his brain. Everyone says he's a nice guy and doesnt mind giving his .02.

Boy am I glad I sealed the floor prior to filling it up.

That's it!!!! You need to mount a bell above it in its own enclosure.

Funny you say this. I spent some time in a lot of old fire houses in the City of Detroit. I really loved all their architecture. Some good looking buildings and a lot of them went to waste.

Thank you. I figure there will be a lot of time spent in there.

Now that my barn is finished, my wife calls herself a "barn widow". :D

Ken the place looks great, I'll bet you really will spend a lot of time in there.

Thanks for the kind words. Now it will take some time, But electrical, landscaping etc still needs to be done. I am hoping to have more progress before winter.

Yep. Time and Money.

A building, regardless of design, is just a shed until it's insulated, wired, lighted, heated. A bathroom is optional, until you have one, then it's mandatory. Same with AC. A hoist is optional unless you work on your own vehicles, then it's mandatory.

I "live" in my shop in the Winter. By Spring I am suffering from Cabin Fever and want out. By Fall I am longing for Winter and the comfortable function of my Shop.

Insulated? Heated? You guys in pineapple land are spoiled. Up here we work harder and faster to warm up. The BSing helps too.:)
