Enough snow piled up to justify plowing everything out, and so today I finally got around to popping in the Napa Legend 7565 battery. It is turned out to be a better fit in the battery box than my "stock" battery, but I was mostly happy about the fast-turning engine on start-up. I also decided that my retention system needed tightening and so I added a second wood block.

AC wise, Kioti uses a thermocon switch and since I had the hood open anyway, I observed that the thermocon AC compressor switch does allow the clutch to energize in 25 degree F temperatures, but I plowed out my driveway with foggy windows anyway as AC systems are not efficient at drying the air in the cold.

Most (all?) cars use the AC in defrost setting to dry out the air before it is blown onto the windshield. That way it doesn't condense and make the fog on the windshield worse.
Generally, an AC system will have a high and low pressure cutout switch, but no ambient temperature switch (automatic systems in cars that choose when to run in recirc mode excepted).

Hello Aaron,

If a temperature switch is not present, then the AC system will protect the AC compressor with a thermistor, which is a temperature sensitive inline resistor. Thermisters are cheaper, than a dedicated switch, but also less prone to failure. The temperature switch protects the compressor from hydraulic lock. If the liquid is too cold it will not flash to a gas in the evaporator, and thus there will be no pressure to move from a lack of pressure differential between the high and low sides potentially slugging the compressor with liquid on the suction line.

haven't tried the A/C trick yet but did buy some Rain-X anti fog for all the help I can get....haven't applied it yet either....

I was going to get the locking fuel cap today and went to my dealer. They had to start my heart after they said, well, all I heard was the start of $50 something before I passed out....anyway, I found one that measured the exact same barrel diameter and threads appeared the same. took it home and seemed to be a perfect fit on my NX.....it's a CARQUEST 10591 - $15.09 more realistic. 10591D is one also with green cap for diesel $16.99

Is it vented the same?

The A/C trick never fails to prevent fogging in my NX4510HST cab, even with temps in the 20s F. I set the roof vent to fresh air, rather than recirc.

If I switch the A/C off, my respiration will start to fog the windows after about 15 minutes.

I thought everyone knew that defrost only works with ac on. You can literally see it defog the window as soon as you push the button in you're cab or your pov.

What I can say is that when tractor has popped out of gear, the gear selector pops forward. As a result, I've never had it pop out of high gear. Also, when ever it has popped out of range, it has done so from a dead stop, while attempting to begin moving as the engine has revved up, and as the transmission is transferring the load, but hasn't really even begun to move yet.

Moved snow for several hours this week, and only popped out of range once. It was as Eric describes: attempting to move forward from a stop, as the engine revved, with "Linked Peddle" engaged. This time, rather than touch the range selector, I experimented by raising and lowering the FEL once. That was all it took. Pressed the forward peddle and off I went. Hmm.

Eric, are you going to put grease on those battery terminals? I use No-Ox-Id made by Sanchem. It really helps.

I use white lithium grease from a spray can but I need to dig it out of a box and the garage is cold. Very cold.

I did toss the battery disconnect. It wasn't worth it.

For my own clarity in understanding, did you come to a stop, lift the loader, then pop out of gear?
