Comancheflight, call me crazy, but your point 2 made me wonder if this might also be related to hydraulic flow, rather than simply the range selector linkage. The same thing happened to me a few times as noted in post 1071, but on one of those occasions just raising and lowering the loader while pressing on the forward peddle, rather than fiddling with the range selector, the tractor started moving again, as if nothing had happened. This seemed odd, but I know very little about how the valving works on the NX series, so I report this only to add a data point. The other few times this has happened, I fiddled with the range selector rather than the joystick to get moving again.
Something else, while we're on the subject of range selection: Once in awhile I'll have trouble shifting from neutral into one of the three ranges, as others have occasionally reported on the NX and DK HSTs. No big deal, because I've just nursed
either the forward or reverse pedal a moment or two and the selector slips into gear. In fact, I think this is common from time to time across other makes of HST tractors. It has worked for over 20 years with my Kubota B2150HST.
HOWEVER, last night I was going through the NX series owner's manual and came upon something in section 4-36 that I hadn't recalled focusing on. It says:
"Follow the instruction below if a problem occurs during shifting this [range selector] lever:
1. Put the range shift lever into the neutral position.
2. Depress the pedal slightly [doesn't say which pedal!] to prevent the gears in the transmission from rotating.
3. Shift the range shift lever into the desired position with the brake and front/rear driving pedals depressed."
Now I'm wondering what this section in the manual really means! Should we be depressing both the forward and reverse pedals
simultaneously?? Is there yet another pedal involved, as well? What other pedal would "prevent the gears in the transmission from rotating"?
We're due for more snow tomorrow, so I'll try to get out and try some different things. I'm going to feel a bit silly if pressing both directional pedals simultaneously makes it easier to get into range.
Input from Eric, other NX and DK HST owners, in particular, and anyone else welcomed!
