Clean up complete. Took a couple hours to cut up and haul off. Sun is out now. Going to get steamy.

Too wet? Yep. The City of Denton recently planted some new trees along a rebuilt street and several of them fell over a few days ago.

We finally have some hot, sunny, steamy weather today. I put on my high topped, water proof clod hoppers and did some edging and trimming with the Stihl string trimmer. I was hoping I might find it dry enough to mow at least part of the yard, but no such luck. Not only is the ground soft and wet, but a good part of the time I was wading in an inch or so of water.

You got enough tractor power. Pull it upright and tamp a little dirt around it. A couple of stakes to tie off to and you should be OK. :D

Honestly I feel your pain. I have one like it. Fortunately I had 15 dead ones removed a month a go or I would have had more down. It rained yesterday, this morning and it's starting up again. Some this evening is going to be severe. I may never get things mowed.

Love that 8N in your profile. How has it been for you? HS

I like it. It's only used for mowing our 14 acres so it's not hardly worked. I have had it since December 2010 and the only issue had been a cracked left fender at the step fixed under warranty. My TC40DA has the loader so it does all the hard work.

I really like the CVT transmission, no HST whine like the TC40DA. It has 40HP PTO compared to the 33HP PTO of the TC40DA, you can really tell it when mowing. It feels like it transfers power better than the HST. The hand throttle sets the RPMs so the foot pedal is just like a car, push it down and you go faster from 0% to 100% of speed. It only has one brake pedal just like a car next to the speed pedal and a shuttle shift so a very little learning curve for an operator like my wife.

On another note..............I might be buying a John Deere.John Deere motorcycle.jpg

Strange weather in Lee County today. Floods and Tornados but on our hill only 1/3" rain and sunshine.

My wife had to turn around, and not drown, on a flat non creek area of the road to Giddings around noon.

Kyle, did you get any wind damage from that tornado that touch down on the other side of Giddings?

With all the rain we've had, you can just imagine what my yard looked like after not being mowed for nearly 2 weeks. But about 3:15 this afternoon, I decided to take a chance on getting stuck with my ZTR. I tied the grass deflector up so it would just blow the clipping straight out instead of windrowing with no chance of clogging the discharge chute. And I set it for 4" instead of the 3.5" that I normally mow. And I went pretty fast; did a little wheel spinning in a couple of places, but never stopped so I got it done. I guess we're as ready as we can be for the next round of rain.

I was able to get little of the yard done without making to big of a mess, the rest will just have to wait. I can get to the rest with shredder later on,bale it or turn cows on it.
