Talking about snakes,, I would kill six to eight a year.. Copperhead mostly.. but about eight years ago a couple of caracara birds moved in.. then a couple of more,, then a couple of more.. Someone told me that they would kill snakes.. I said okay.. but I haven’t seen a snake in two years.. any kind.. but I think it is the fire ants.. now I need a bird that killes fire ants.. No Robbyr I can’t afford anteater.. don’t bring it up.. lol..but on second thought,, are they ag?,, how many pre acre? Lou

The best snake repellent I have found is powdered sulfer. The snake whatever it is will not cross it and it even works on mice. We buy it at Lowes or Home Depot or local hardware store

That must be what I have heard needs to be replaced after every rain.

Speaking of replacing after every rain. Some years ago I had a bit of a problem with cottontail rabbits grazing in my garden. Someone told me I could spread blood meal around the garden and the rabbits wouldn't cross it. It apparently worked, BUT I replaced it after every rain. And the prettiest grass on the 10 acres was that right around the garden.:laughing: And it required the most frequent mowing.

Yesterday Cher says "time to cut grass and clean up" ... fired up the JD rider and in a couple passes a squealing ... deck bearing bad. Fired up the push mower and in a couple passes I says Geez this blade needs sharpening ... Removing the blade I broke the bolt broke off!!! ... Cranked the weedeater and it wouldn't go full throttle ....

I stated the following .... Why in gods name am I stupid enough to have a large yard? I suggested we fence it off and put in goats !!! Cher replied something about my arce ... I don't think she approved of the goats!!

Lou maybe you should call the Brazoria County Appraisal District and find out if having anteaters would give you an ag exemption.. Now if only mesquite trees qualified for an exemption......
