Nice mower Drew. It's a 7 footer right. Have you ever compared a rear finishing mower to a ztr. As far as speed.
I am wearing our a ztr and have thought about replacing it with a rfm.
Dabsgt, is that cab also air-conditioned? That is one nice mowing machine..
DABSGT, nice rig cab is almost cheating isn't it?
.
No air conditioning, the thought crossed my mind but I'll pop the doors and front window for summer. The heat works very good I used the tractor for about an hour this afternoon temp about 45 had to turn off heat!! Next week have to have a mount fabricated for the snowplow for the quick connect then mount 3 Pt snowblower. Hopefully 32 HP will throw the snow farther than the 855 did. Started at 33 this morning got up to 47 day off from work so I played with the tractor and my dogs. A good day!
moot point for me, I can't drive a ztr with my arthritis, but I've owned them. This mower is to mow the field at over five inches tall. I guess I could mow the lawn with it but only the wide open areas. Most zero turns won't mow past four inches and five max. yes it's seven feet, max I'd go with a solid deck but then my place is very flat. It didn't like pine needles very much, seemed to lay down a small line of them. Otherwise the field looked like I mowed it with the lawn mower. not sure I answered your question. Biggest ztr deck is a 72 and decks that big are hard to get around tight spaces or in between places, meaning more trimming. So for anything other than open areas, I'd for sure take a zero turn. They are remarkably fast if you can actually get a decent cut and not wear yourself out going that fast. Besides you are mowing before the drive wheel on zero turns, not after.
