Iam thinking you are right, will be long Winter.
You need to start paying the weatherman better. It sounds like a continuation of last winter for you.

Our 10 day forecast has a week of highs in the 30's beginning Saturday.

Good Morning. 1105, mostly cloudy, 75F with 76% humidity. Forecast high of 77F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 52F tonight. It was 48F @ 0615 this morning.

My customers didn't show up last night. It was a County office, so I guess they were off due to it being Veterians Day, but it would have been nice if they had picked up the phone and let me know. I went ahead and did a few hours of make work just to make it worth my time. I worked in the flowerbeds and changed a few light bulbs. With a building as big as the Civic Center, there is always a few light bulbs that need changing.

I'm doing household chores this morning. Since I'm in the house, I'm recording some shows to DVD's so I can clear up some space on the DVR. One of the reasons I was hanging close by was my bug man was supposed to be here this morning, but they just called to reschedule.

Hope everyone is having a good day,

Larro

PS: here is a shot of one of the flowerbeds I was working on.

10 degrees outside, and 49 in the fifth wheel...

I forgot to swap out propane tanks when I got back in last night, and had to climb out of a nice warm bed at 5AM and change tanks with a 2 degree wind chill.

Oh, and an update from yesterdays phone line drama... Yup, turns out the line was buried about 3 or so inches from the road surface, and I sheared it right off with the dozer.

Hopefully, I don't get a bill for that.

I hope he gets the maximum penalty, which won't be enough but ...

Maybe a YouTube public shaming is what is needed.

just thought I'd tell you guys with the snow coming down it's 73 here and I just came in soaked in sweat. But oh so pleased.
I've waited almost ten years to do what I did today. And I even got the rows pretty straight. The holes that were dug were way larger than the root balls, but that was fine, got them all tucked in and watered.

Right now is the warmest it's going to be in many months. As tired as I am, after watering the sod also, for three hours, I might go back out now that I showered six inches of dirt off me and just sit on the porch. Oh, and listen to them hammering. Actually, I think they might be done. Quiet returns.

Got a call and said oh your windows came in early, any chance we can come over today and start? Well they could in a few spots, and then will finish next week. 31 windows is a lot of hammering and banging. Maybe I'll spend the days in the woods to get away from the noise.

It took until 4:30 this afternoon but it arrived now I just have to take mower off (unless wife thinks grass is to high) and get ready for snow.

Nice! That should make winter more fun.

boy just in time for the snow. A fine green machine for sure.
my next door neighbor has a similar JD without the cab, without the FEL, and boy would he salivate over this
nice rig.
I wonder if one could add extra siping to turf tires to make them better in snow, like Blizzaks... There are some great threads on TBN
on siping R1 lug tires.

Looks pretty nice, Drew. Beautiful piece of property you have there. Hope you enjoy it.

Nice looking straight rows. You'll be looking out at blooms and bees before you know it. I'm with Dave on the idea of a few pecan trees. My dad grew up with pecan trees in his yard, so he brought two little trees to me when I first bought my place. Took many years for them to grow and produce, but I have been gathering the best tasting pecans for the last few years (that is, when I beat the squirrels to them).

It got up to 73 here today, too. I worked up on a ladder in shorts and t-shirt until sunset, but about 4pm a strong wind came through and the temp dropped into the 50s. By the time I came inside I was freezing.

Drew, you sure are making a nice piece of property into a great one. The trees will be beautiful in just few years and the windows will be easy maintenance and likely warmer.

Congrats!

Finally remembered to take the pictures.

For some reason the app will only let me upload one picture per post today. Locks up when I try second one.

It never made it to 40 here today. Weatherman used the a and s words in reference to Sunday morning. (Accumulating snow). It's deer season here so time for it to get cold. Still need to mow one more time maybe this week.

Pecan pie made from your own nuts! Can't do that up north. No wise cracks. :p

I love pecan pie but boy is it fattening stuff. Candy in a pie shell pretty much describes it. That doesn't stop me though.

farmer2009: The slab looks fine. a 1/16th or even an 1/8th of an inch is nothing to fret over.

We had fog and very light and occasional drizzle all day. High was 52F. Sky is clear now, of course, after missing a whole day of solar electric generation.
