just in time delivery of my new finish mower; got the field mowed with about an hour to spare before the rains started. Mower was so quiet; loud hum vs a roar. Almost no vibration, very smooth. And the Kubota dealer sure put some polish on it; but dirty I got it.
I don't trust the rain forecast so I'm still running some sprinkler hoses. MUST remember to turn them off before I go to bed.
One of those water timers would be nice to have right now.

Nice mower Drew. It's a 7 footer right. Have you ever compared a rear finishing mower to a ztr. As far as speed.

I am wearing our a ztr and have thought about replacing it with a rfm.

moot point for me, I can't drive a ztr with my arthritis, but I've owned them. This mower is to mow the field at over five inches tall. I guess I could mow the lawn with it but only the wide open areas. Most zero turns won't mow past four inches and five max.
yes it's seven feet, max I'd go with a solid deck but then my place is very flat.
It didn't like pine needles very much, seemed to lay down a small line of them. Otherwise the field looked like I mowed it with the lawn mower.

not sure I answered your question. Biggest ztr deck is a 72 and decks that big are hard to get around tight spaces or in between places, meaning more trimming. So for anything other than open areas, I'd for sure take a zero turn. They are remarkably fast if you can actually get a decent cut and not wear yourself out going that fast. Besides you are mowing before the drive wheel on zero turns, not after.

Dabsgt, is that cab also air-conditioned? That is one nice mowing machine..

No air conditioning, the thought crossed my mind but I'll pop the doors and front window for summer. The heat works very good I used the tractor for about an hour this afternoon temp about 45 had to turn off heat!! Next week have to have a mount fabricated for the snowplow for the quick connect then mount 3 Pt snowblower. Hopefully 32 HP will throw the snow farther than the 855 did.

Started at 33 this morning got up to 47 day off from work so I played with the tractor and my dogs. A good day!

DABSGT, nice rig cab is almost cheating isn't it?
.

Almost but it's warm! Truthfully on nice warm days I just take one of my uncles old tractors, he has 15 and he is 89 so they need to be run.

I was wishing I had a cab like yours today. Got about half of my final mowing complete. High of 33. Finish tomorrow I think. I always like to mow once after a killing frost. It was about 2 weeks late this year.

That's just it I mow a lot of open areas. Have a 60" Dixie Chopper and it still takes about 4-5 hours each week to mow. If I skip a week or two then it's almost double that. I have a buddy that mows similar to what I do with a 7foot rfm and swore it was faster until this summer when he borrowed mine. Now he's not sure. I guess I just need to barrow his next year and time it on my place. I know I will have to go back and get some spots as my 60" deck just does fit in a few places but it's got over 1300 hours on it. Maybe closer to 1500. Would like to save it some. Or do I just replace it.

That rear finish mower looks awesome - like some kind of stealth fighter jet - although I guess they don't paint them orange.

DABSGT - nice looking tractor and smart to have a heater - I was out bush hogging a bit today when it was 44F and would have liked something like that.

Warmed up the engine so I could change the oil and filter. I lost one of the oil pan plugs somehow in the leaves on my driveway and did some crawling around until I found it - the washer had fallen off and was even harder to find. Never had this happen before. But all's well, and now all leaves are shredded.
