Look at the numbers and compare it to the other V8 options and Eco Boost. It's gutless. I tow in large groups during the summer and the 5.3 L trucks get left in the dust merging on to the free way and climbing hills. The Hemi trucks drink the fuel, just the way it is. I will say the 5.3 is a good motor. It's track record shows that but the 6.0 is much more powerful with decent mpg ' s towing. Chris

How bout my previous truck; 2006 f150 fx4 crew with 5.4 Triton!
I'd put my "don't even know what to call it by your standards 4.8l" a up against that sluggish pig 5.4 any day both loaded down and not.
That 5.4 was good on paper; not so much on the road.
Thirsty, sluggish and always needed some skinny pedal to get it to move.
Truck appearance was great but performance not so much!
