Don, you've had twice as much rain as I've had. I've gotten some rain on 3 different days this month, the 3 combined have only amounted to about .13".

We'd be even drier if we would not have rain gauges that measured one hundredths of an inch.

Well, I got home around 3pm Saturday afternoon. I left at 9:30 and took some detours near TxDon and Mikim's stomping grounds. I left 290 and went north from McDade up to Lexington, past Fedor, and down to Lincoln, then down to Paige and onward to Serbin, and then back up to Giddings and home. I was exhausted after taking care of Chloe 3 nights and sleeping on their couch during the day. I relaxed for a few hours..........then heard my sleeping female ferret give a few squeaks and thought.............I'm ready to see Chloe again. Then I realized I miss her already!
Anyway, it was a nice unhumid day. I did forget to check my rain gage, and just went out to check. There was 1/2 inch in the gage. I think it was from Wed. as it was starting to rain hard when I left. So subtract 3 days of evaporation and we got a good bit of rain.

Thanks for the photos, Brandi. There's nothing like grandkids and great-grandkids to cheer up your day. They bring out that soft mushy side in all of us, no matter how much tough guy/gal grease and mud we have caked on our hands and boots.

I did our windows today and will confirm Don's post. it's good stuff. I did the outside while my wife did the inside of the windows. I think I had the easier job. And as I posted before, the Denton Lowe's had plenty of this stuff. Of course I only had a dozen windows to clean instead of 20 that it says it'll do.

I saw what looked like 4 or 5 boy scout tents in a row. I don't remember the color. I think there was a large RV there also. Is that Y'all's place? I thought Y'all were more in the trees?
I really like the area on FM 1624 near Fedor.

She is a definitely a living doll. You just want to eat her up with kisses.:licking: I'm thinking up all kind of mushy stuff to do, along with farm and tractor stuff to spoil her. Top of the list is a Mahindra Pedal Tractor:tractor:, that will be out (again) before Christmas.:santahat: A pony:dollarsign: would be a real plus for her to say............"I wanna go stay with Grams".

Hehehe...........I did that to Chloe's Dad yesterday just before I left.
I can hear Chloe now,...............in a few years saying............................"I wanna go to Gram's to see the Kittyfish".
I just fed the "Kittyfish". One of the Kitties jumped out of the water to get at the feed.
I then got my minnow/landing net out to catch as many of the Mosquito fish I could out of the mud holes of the new pond. Last Wed. morning I had moved about 2 dozen of them from the minnow trap that had the inlet at water level, sitting in the mud. I went to empty it today and had another cotton mouth in it that had feasted on the fish I was trying to save. Needless to say, a trip back inside for the old Winchester 22 and that snake was dispatched. I then drug the minnow/landing net above the bottom mud and took out about 150 Mosquito fish. I started their life in the new pond with about 20 of them last spring. Thousands other have died to the birds and lack of oxygen in the 3 inch deep water. It's starting to stink down in the pond basin. As you walk around the mud hole, you can see one large dark mass move to the other side, there are so many of them.
On a Happier Note, the small pond has about 6 feet of water in it and is an clear aqua green color.

Egrets/herons worked on what was left of my fish, this year. Even my garden ponds have been hit. One can't shoot them, so I am at a disadvantage. I'll have to come up with other plans, should we get enough rain and I decide to restock things. Maybe I'll make a trek your way and get some of those mosquito fish. Places around here don't sell Gambusia.

You were very close, the tents were at the unofficial old Fedor Picnic grounds. We set up the tents for the VFD fish fry/auction next Saturday evening. I don't know about a RV but there is a pretty old white church with a tall steeple right down the road from the tents. It's hard to believe but that little area will be busy next week with 1200 people.

I know that we need rain, and wish we had cloudy skies and the chance of rain. However, tomorrow is a New Moon and tonight that moon is gorgeous! When temps get cooler, and mosquitos less active, I might have to take a travel alarm out and sleep under the stars and moon. Sure would be a pretty sight to be looking up at, while waiting to drift off to sleep!

Funny thing...........Rebecca loves to shoot and Greg doesn't like guns. It will be interesting when we do get the rifles out for plinking.
I got the Gambusia from WeldingisFun here on TBN. He and his wife are retired military and have a goat ranch southwest of Killeen. I transported them in an igloo cooler with a battery operated aerator in the water. I carry another cooler with extra water to replace what splashes out.
One can not shoot them, but we can definitely scare them. Pellet guns are almost silent. Having resident red shoulder hawks around helps keep them away. Also, I have fun walking towards the pond. Booger runs ahead when I holler...."sic'em". Then the birds put air under their wings.

The best thing about grandbabies...........is I don't do dippers, I just hand them off. The little rascals are great fun and enjoyment, but true happiness is getting the last one potty trained.
When we go into any store (TSC, Walmart etc.) we have to make detours to the kids clothes section. The Wife starts Christmas shopping for the kids about June. The girls really like the Pink Camo.
