At one time exhaust fluid would have been a joke also

I wonder if an exhaust bearing lets the smoke roll out more freely allowing the exhaust pipe to last longer while charging the customer yet more moronic wasted $$$$

Oh, you know, you need to replace that bearing every 50 hours, whether it needs it or not! I'm not going to risk ruining my machine over a $79 part. I'm money ahead.

Exhaust bearings?

Sure thing.

I keep mine right next to the "sky hook" and the "pipe stretcher."

As far as I'm concerned, it still is. I won't buy a vehicle, tractor, or piece of equipment that requires it.

Exhaust bearing refers to the bearing on the hot side of the turbo.

I thought the exhaust fluid was used to cool the exhaust bearing so the muffler belt wouldn't get hot, stretch out of shape and fall off.

I can work up smoke shifters here in my shop, if anyone needs one. Why be dependent on which way the wind is blowing?

Now let me see. . . In the US Navy, I remember relative bearing grease and sound powered phone batteries being two items we sent new crew members to supply for. The deck crew would send new guys to supply for 50 feet of chow line or 100 feet of waterline.

Don't forget going below for a bucket of steam...

I still remember when the guys in the machine shop on the tender captured that sea bat. Sailors from all over the ship and from many of the subs alongside got to go up and have a look at that sea bat. What a strange creature it was! It was hanging right up there on the underside of the big workbench. You just had to bend way over to get a good look at it.

I just saw the exhaust bearing at autozone it was right next to the blinker fluid.

Now I got it. They work alongside the kinivelling tube to reduce exhaust back flow. We just have a different name for them here. I ran without them one year, big mistake. I only need one which the dealer wanted $127 for.

While we are at it, don't forget to change the air in your tires with the seasons. You never want to run summer air in the winter.
