Tach cables on GC2310's

I'm going to make a bold statment.
I bet all the tach cables on the Gc2300 2400 2600 series that break, all break at the end near the gauge. To be more specific they all break right at the bend in the metal fitting,when it screws onto the tack gauge. I'm on my third now. OH yes! I have done the grease and lube thing on these.
A 90 degree gear or some sort of worm gear at this end would stop what appears to be common problem, would it not. Just thinking.

Any thoughts on this, that the Massey people could take note of.

Mac, actually mine broke at the bottom and not the top.

Curious... Mine has a nice, gentle 40-degree or so bend at the gauge, and is still operational.

The only problem I had was that the knurled nut fell off just after I got the tractor 3 yrs ago- apparently not tight enough from the factory. Problem was, the nut then slid ALL THE WAY DOWN THE CABLE and was very hard to retrieve. One of those 40-second jobs that turned into a small nightmare.

Fixed that by putting a piece of rubber hose and a small clamp on the cable so it can't get lost again....

That is exactly like the cable that is on mine and I wsa thinking it was about 10-15 degrees. How-ever it is right at that bend where the cable breaks.
Wonder where a chap could get a 90 degree small worm gear attachment for that end. I have seen similar somewhere but like everything else I can't remember where.
