Where is everyone getting the HF coupons from? I've made small purchases from them over the years and get their catalogs regularly but have yet to see any coupons in the mail.

Get your email address in their system... I get offended if I don't get some sale/coupon offer from the 2-3 times a week... lol

usually on the back page of their flyers there is an offer for free suff like tool bags and such, and sometimes the offer coupons for a set amount or % off the total price. although i have a mag right here beside me and there is no coupons on this one. i too have been thinking about trying one of these if it makes it quicker to change imolements.

WOW !! Fantastic deal there Bill (Johndeere4300)!! I got my JD-I-Match a couple years ago right after getting my new 3520,.....but holy cow I think it cost about 250 CDN plus tax. So much easier dropping a blade and picking up the mower etc. after years of the pry bar, hammer tricks hookin' up the old way!!

By the way,..I backed in, hooked up the (RFM) and gave it a lift to make sure I was properly "hooked" first prior to dropping it down and sliding the PTO on. BUT,..Oooops, wasn't watching the PTO,..it caught under the towbar and bent. I tried to straighten it but it had a slight wobble. Not good at those RPMs.

So had to buy a new one. I aways hated the "slide back and twist" lock,.. especially down in those "awkward" positions, so got the sliding pin type. Couldn't be happier!! ("almost"..fun connecting it!)(?)

CHEERS !

It's been discussed and discussed I know. Just wanted to share the pictures. 97214-3VGA (27.5 inside clearence - NOT the 93691-1VGA which is 26.5) was on sale for 69.99. 9.99 shipping and I used a online coupon for a 10.00 gift card.

Drilled out the holes on the J-hook for quick release pins so I don't have to use bolts. Three of my implements will work sweet as delivered with the hook. The used allied snowblower does not meet quick hitch ASAE specifications so I bought the optional adapter bracket for it (I think it was 8.99). Bought a few cat 2 bushings from Agri Supply because the lower implement pins will fit much better with cat 2 bushings.

Pretty easy and cheap solution. I haven't hooked it up yet, but, my tape measure tells me it will work fine.

Regards

1 - What size bit did you use to drill out the J-hook?
2 - Where did you get the quick release pins?
3- What size quick release pins are you using?

I'm about to buy the Quick Hitch and I like the way you have yours set up. Thanks

I believe 1) 1/2 " bit, all you are doing is cleaning out the powder coat/paint. It will wear out within a few hook changes and just using it. Not really necessary but I did do it as well. 2) Any tractor supply, again 1/2" pin. Take the hook with you. I bought the nice ones with the handles and wound up cutting the pins down to the point of just being long enough to fit with a hair pin clip. Some of my implements swallow up most of the hook and the long pins were in the way.

Thanks for this information, ninefinger. I'll be buying the harbor freight quick hitch this week. Very much appreciated.

Just went out and bought my 3 - point Quick Hitch from Harbor Freight. On sale now paid $79.99. Beats paying $200.00 plus from John Deere! Thanks for the info.:D

Hi.

I am very recently new to this site.

When I found the site and joined, one of my first thoughts was to inquire about the Harbor Freight quick-hitch, and whether it was junk or gem.

Contrary to all the negative vibes I hear all the time about "cheap junk", I have shopped there for years and usually get a lot more (a whole lot more) for my money than I get anywhere else.

Now, I am going to read all 12 pages of comments.

Thanks.

There are TWO different types of Harbor Freight catalogs, mail-order and in-store sales-papers.

You have to actually fill out a card in a Harbor Freight store and leave it in a slot-box in order to receive the in-store sales-papers.

I guess as a means of keeping track of who is and isn't making use of the sales-papers, they often print a " -X- %-off any purchase " coupon on the back of the sales-paper that will have a bar-code that identifies the address of the recipient; you use the coupon and they know to keep sending papers.

I have gotten one that was a whole 50%-off (I used it to buy a $300 10,000-watt generator head); but, usually, they are either 30-, 20-, or 10-% off.

Another thing :

If you find a better price in their mail-order catalog, SHOW that catalog page/price at the register and the clerk will adjust the price to match it; I have done this countless times; I have about three stores worth of Harbor Freight goodies that I have bought over the years; it's a poor man's store for sure.;)

I just got my HF quick hitch and love it. I was able to hook up my 5' bush hog with out wrestling with it to get the pins into the link arms. Just to be able to back up and hook up to move it around was worth every penny. With the coupon I paid $63 and change, far cry from the 200+ from JD.

I bought the 27 1/2" model there is a 26 1/2" too. The narrower one is the ones people were complaining about and spreading them.

If you sign up online HF will send you a 20% off coupon by e-mail to print.

Is this on-line coupon also honored in their walk-in stores, or only on-line ??

Thanks.

I found that the part holding the top link and upper hook gets in the way of some of my attachments, so I modded it a little with the 'ol grinder.

In stores. The 20% coupon is honored in addition to the advertised sale price, unless you are using a coupon for the sale price, too. In other words, you can only use one coupon per item.

If you are buying multiple items, have them ring up a separate sales transaction to buy some coupon sale items and also use the 20% off coupon on another item.

Have I confused you yet? :D
