My Jd 997 came with lights from factory. I only use them when running out the lane at night to the mail box hahah to many bugs mowing at night where I am

Iteresting. Are you thinking wishbone or strut or? I've seen a couple that have shocks in the front but sure that it's a actual independant.

I am thinking of an A-arm type set-up utilizing a shock on each side.

Ferris mowers have models with front end only with suspension and also with full suspension. May want to at least look at their design.

The Ferris uses independent shocks like I was thinking - Now the rear wheels being suspended too... humm, that may prove to be a bit more difficult - plus I suspect to maintain cut height uniformity would add some complexity too. Just letting the front some independence would compromise cut height uniformity as well, however, I ok taking a stab and seeing it would permit an amount that is acceptable.
