ZD1211 and Coolant

I didnt want to hijack the other thread on ZD1211s and Coolant.

My question is to add Coolant do I need to buy it from my Kubota dealer, or can I use green (or maybe it's yellow) coolant from my John Deere dealer that's much closer?

I think it's called Cool-Gard ll

I'm not losing coolant, just need to top up the overflow tank.

Is it okay to mix brands?

It's fine to mix brands. It's not a good idea to mix coolant chemistries. Stick with the same active ingredients.

As an alternative adding little bit of distilled water would fine, as long as you don't dilute it too much for winter conditions.

My tractor manual specifies ethylene glycol based coolant. It does not specify a brand. A 50/50 blend with distilled water is basically the mix. Or you can buy it premixed by several brands at most auto parts stores.
