Might be a scam. The guy has zero feedback score.

But your implication is that, unless original, the welder is somehow devalued. I don't know squat about the Lincoln SA series but if one wants that welder and wants it to work then it would seem minor, or even an advantage, to have new parts.

If it is wanted for the originality, like a classic car enthusiast/collector might find desirable, then the disdain is more understandable.
