Dude way over priced for the condition of that thing no matter what it is.........u can get a pretty one for less....ask Hoye or someone.......Don't let ur friend get ripped off.....
Have you tried looking this machine up on this website: http://www.machinerylink.com
Look on the bottom, on the left for the used tractor price guide. I've found it to be somewhat useful in deciding if I'd maybe be paying too much for a tractor.... Hope it helps you & friend...
great, I personally don't qualify tractors or equipment whether or not they are "pretty". sure, the unit looks rough, but so do I and I work well ;-)

Well I think a tractor has to be pretty or it can't do any work.....
On the real side... If you let the outside deteriorate like that what have u done for the guts. I find it easier to Maintain a pretty tractor or car or boat etc.... I don't think the pictured tractor is worth much.. It has not been shedded and it needs reconditioning. Get a used one that does not need reconditioning yet or get a reconditioned one or get a junk one cheap. Don't pay 5k for that piece of junk.
Here is my take on that tractor. It is probably a YM1702D or 1720D. Someone repainted the tractor at some time and did not use a hardner and the paint faded. When they repainted the tractor they replaced the decal on the side with an OEM Yanmar USA hood decal. See the attached picture for a YM1702D.
I am beginning to question my own opinion on this tractor. Here is why:
Look at the attached picture.
1. The grill is from a 10 or 01 series tractor, not an 02 or 20. Of course it could have been replaced after the original plactic grill was broken.
2. This side panel that is circled should actually be two smaller vent looking extrusions.
3. What is this hanging off of the front bumper? Some welded on attachment or possibly the front attachment point of a mid mount mower?
Being I have had my nose stuck in my hood a lot in the past couple of days it looks alot like the hood off a YM187 or YM186 even the front grill looks a lot like mine.
Let me see if I can rob a pic from another thread and take a peek at them, I still think it's a gray market tractor but with a american yanny hood on it.
Ok, thats not working it won't let me place in with my post say's it's to big hummmm anywho it's the 5th. pic down on the "dressin' up an old YM187" thread.
