Rear Blade Why doesn't my rear blade cut?

Any chance of pictures of your blade hitched up to your tractor? 5-600lbs should work ok. My first rear blade weighed 680lb I think, it would roll the dirt as in the picture. No a lighter blade is not going to work as well with harder ground, but you say that your ground is shovel soft, most any blade should be working. Your boom should be just about parallel to the ground. The blade should be built so that the cutting edge is pretty close to the correct angle to be cutting most material.

Brian,
I get similar results with my Deere 45 blade as you have posted. I think it is an adjustment/leveling issue with dcrylics blade. My blade is a little lighter than his blade.

Rocks, what are rocks? We don't have any stinking rocks around here. I did that ditch for a temporary water line, about 18-20" deep. If I remember right, that was about a 90 minute job, dug, plumbed and back filled, for 240'. :thumbsup:

I can only wish, unfortunately, we have only a few trees and cutting one down may get you shot, BY ME. We do have a few boulders though. How big does a rock have to be before it is considered a boulder? :confused2:

To quilify as a boulder around here it needs to be big enough to hide behind when playing "Cowboys and Indians".

OK, then we have three different outcroppings, each spaced 1/4-3/8-1/2 mile apart. We have a few that would take a D8 or bigger to move.

I have the boom flail mower I've been working on hooked up right now, but I plan to unload it in the next day or so - so that I can hook up and get pictures of the blade. Should have pix by the weekend.

Does shortening the toplink not cause the boxblade to roll forward? lowering the scarifiers?
