Rear Blade Why doesn't my rear blade cut?

Here is a couple of pics of my Deere 45 7' blade should be close to the same. These are what I would call light blades. Can't recall whether the 8' 65 is simply larger or heavier duty.

Steve, gotta tell ya, that blade is scary. Do you have something under 30hp to use it on. It's almost hard to believe that you have ditched with it and it didn't bend. Ground must have been just right.

I'm guessing larger and a little heavier. I'm amazed at how similar the two look.

Very similar. Nearly identical design, just larger.

cyril, I lenghten my top pin to get a bigger cut.How are you and the family doing?I had to take a time out what with the loss of a young gal in our town and the over the line politics that were being brought up it was just too much.I,m going to try to still be a good and hopefully helpful,member of this group.Any who hope all is well with you and yours.You do live in a very nice area,but I tend to rust so its northern mn. for me for now.In my 60 plus years of farm life I,ll try to pass on to the young folks any help I can offer.:thumbsup:

Yeah it is a light unit that I bought to use with the 820. Paid about $600 for it 10 years ago. Now with more hydraulics available I would go for a better unit.

It is rated for 40-45 hp. Mainbeam is 3"x6"x3/16" tubing. Pin looks to be about 3". If and when it turns into a pretzel I will get a new hydraulic one.

It's good to hear from you Dave. I was hoping you would still be around. The different threads can vary a lot in content. You just have to pick which ones you want to be a part of. You might enjoy reading some of the threads started by 3rrl. Rob's a great guy and some of the stuff he does is truely amazing. He lives in S. Cal and due to his remote location, utility power was cost prohibitive (nearly 1/4 mil if I remember right). He ended up builting an off-grid solar power system for his home and complete shop. Really some great reading! Again, good to hear from you. Don't be a stranger.

The 4520 and 2240 are both 50 pto hp, but your tractor should have a higher draft and cat II hitch as I recall.
