15 years old, 3K hrs, 50% tires, and way too big for use in the woods, plus 15K more than my new 50hp was.....

That is not a good price. You can buy a new 110C for $56 k. That tractor will need alot if money thrown at it

That’d be like using a 50 cal for squirrel hunting. Couldn’t get it through my gates, park it in my barn, would decimate my lawn, not going in the woods, not towing it without a semi.

I did my first one slightly used. No tax, less cost, still had most of its warranty and was a good choice. But shopping bigger, used machines were so close in price to new unless they were at a bazillion hrs and beat to death. Spending a lot more for the bigger machine I wanted the reassurance of full warranty length, dealer hand holding, and being sure I wasnt buying some other guys problems. For others difference between writing a check for full amount vs making payments means new.

I’ve never bought a new piece of equipment or vehicle, but that’s not a very logical piece. How many people need a 110hp tractor rather it’s a good deal or not?

Used stuff is difficult if not impossible to finance unless you are a bonafide farm with a credit line established. When I was looking at used, financing was available as a personal unsecured loan at 17.5% only. Manufacturer financing on new has changed the CUT/SCUT market reducing the number of bargains which require cash on the barrel head. Then there are guys like my Dentist that can plunk down $35K for a B line KUB with a bunch of implements. If he truth were known he probably doesn't have any credit due to never using it.

I bought new 3 years ago after always buying used. Then traded for used when I found a cab tractor I could afford. The demand for smaller tractors is greater than utility sized farm tractors plus financing options make it easier to buy new. Most folks don't have 40K laying round and need financing. With good credit all you need is your signature.

Why buy new? Because - have you ever looked a the way most people treat farm equipment? Run it to death, _maybe_ service it (when needed), leave it out in a field somewhere, etc.
Easy to purchase somebody else's problems.

I didn't bother to price out a 110C, but from what I have seen close to comparable new is well over $80,000.
3000 hours isn't much on these units, our Puma 125 has over 10,000 hours.
I guess I look for a bit larger then some.
